“Great Bargain”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 6, 2012

We were surprised with how much space our room had. The room had fireplace sitting room. The bathroom was by itself. There was a huge room with just the shower. Lots of closet space. It is about a 20 minute walk into the center of town. It is a beautiful walk. This hotel was quite lovely and fit our needs for the night.

Had a great couple of days in Bellagio, loved the city itself but when we arrived rooms you couldn't swing a cat in! Loved the breakfast but would not recommend to people looking to staying close to the city. Had some great dinners and enjoyed our stay.

I considered a few spots before choosing Hotel Fioroni, and am glad I did. The place is spotless, and the views from the balconies lovely - you can see both the lake and the pretty countryside. Amazing value considering how close you are to Bellagio town. Don't be put off by the 'distance', it's a shorter walk than if you were staying in a big city, and I think more pleasant at the end of that.

Hotel is about 1.5 K up the hill from Bellagio, an easy 20 minute stroll into town. Rooms are very comfortable and, rarely for this class, have excellent aircon. Bathrooms are well equipped, shower is small but manageable. Heaps of parking. Breakfast is 'German continental': juice & cereals, fruit fresh & canned, sweet croissants, bread rolls with ham, salami, boiled egg, cheese & jam options - ample.

The only drawback of its location is that it is some distance from restaurant meals, which with 2 pizza exceptions are all in town. And the 2 closest are not clean by US standards though I had an excellent steak meal in the recommended one, which is also some distance away. Solution: have a good lunch in town & drive in about 7.30 pm for dinner (free parking after 8 pm).

Looking at price against the options in Bellagio itself, this is highly recommended.

Firstly, the location, in response to some of the whiners on some review sites - It is around 10 minutes to walk to the centre of Bellagio- gradual uphill back but nothing to cry about and if you have a car you won't find a hotel much closer to the town with free parking so no complaints there (the car park was plenty big enough). In any case the walk is pleasant and we got some lovely photos along the way. Some people have mentioned traffic noise - we didn't encounter any problems with this at all, it was quiet and relaxed and although the main road into town is just around the corner, we are not talking a road of M25 proportions here, our experience was that it wasn't busy at all and it didn't affect our ability to sleep. The room was spotlessly clean as were the communal areas and the bathroom was sparkling which was lovely. We had a room with a balcony overlooking a mountain and a glimpse of the lake on our left which was very beautiful.

Breakfast was as you would expect in Italy, meats, cheeses, pastries, yoghurt, fruit. There was also the option to buy eggs/bacon/sausages if you prefer.

The only complaint that we would have is that there were no tea/coffee making faciilties in the room but this was not a major issue - just that we are English and get a bit grouchy if we don't have cups of tea on tap!

All in all, this hotel is clean, conveniently located and budget friendly.

RESTAURANT TIP

The hotel du lac in the town has a restaurant attached - we ate there and it was lovely - as you reach the lake (on foot) head for the right hand side and you will reach it in a few minutes.

This is a very nice hotel situated in the outskirts of Bellagio and only 10 minutes walk from the town centre. We booked this hotel as we needed parking for our hire car and they offered free parking, Parking is very expensive in Bellagio and most hotels in the centre dont offer parking. We had a nice room with a large balcony and enjoyed a drink on it every night. The hotel faces the mountains but there is a partial view of the lake. Breakfast is served in a very pleasant dining room and there is a good selection of meat, cheese, bread and pastries. We would definitely recommend this hotel.

If you are looking for a relaxing environment, Hotel Fioroni - owned and managed by a nice Italian family - is a respectable and good place to check in. I stayed at this hotel for a week and I would recommend this place to everyone: Singles, Couples, groups of friends, family with kids. You can actually hear the birds chirping in the morning. The environment is relaxing and only a short and good walk from the historical Bellagio town and ferry terminal.
The room and bathroom are clean. Buffet breakfast is served in a pretty and cozy setting. Would I stay here again if I were to return? Yes.
