“Well-priced and varied food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 20, 2013

This restaurant was one of two recommended by our hotel's reception. We very much liked the place. Not expensive, decent set of options and wine recommendation was good. Would eat there again!

“Casual and quiet”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2013

We stayed at the hotel and wanted to have a quick lunch, so this was the obvious choice.
The prices are super and the restaurant offers great value for money. We had the "Penne Arrabiata" which was good, but not spectacular and the "Beef Carpaccio" which I would give the same rating. Make sure to ask the chef to add more garlic to the arrabiata. Had I done that it would actually have been very good.

“good value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 14, 2013

The place is located in a crowded narrow street but since the terrace is away from the street, you do not get the feeling that you are sitting in a crowded area. We passed the terrace several times and it is always full. We had lunch. Two of us took the menu of the day (starter and main course) which for 17 euro offered good value for money. The food was OK. Certainly not the best meal in town but exactly what you would expect. The service was efficient and attentive. In short: good ambience and good value for money.

“Looked promising but certainly not one of the best”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 13, 2013

We booked here because there was live music playing in the evening and the courtyard looked lovely. Food was ok, I had lasagne and my husband had seabass and both were tasty, but the service was slow. However there was a strong smell of deisel coming from the other side of the wall to where we were sitting which wasn't pleasant, and the toilet facilities were not good!

“Average fare, not totally fresh but good service and location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2013

We dined at the Antico Pozzo twice in our week, not because it was a superb restaurant but it was acceptable food, served fast and politely in a nice side street location. The first meal we had was at a busy lunch time and service was quick and friendly. The food was good average fare and we all enjoyed it. Value for money was also good and the waiter chatted pleasantly with us. Having had a good lunch we went back at 6pm a few days later. Being between the day and evening service (starts at 1900) the restaurant was quiet and the waiters were congregated outside smoking and chatting. We got a warm welcome though and were told that we could order pizzas or salads but a limited choice of pasta/meat as we were between menus. That was disappointing and although the food arrived quickly, it didn't give the impression of being freshly prepared. It was perfectly OK though and still good value. The bread basket was generous and again service was really pleasant, efficient but unhurried - you didn't feel like they were pushing you to finish or leave, it was just right. The food could have been a higher standard but when you compare the prices to some of the over-inflated tourist grabbing prices of nearby restaurants, it's pretty good value and the environment outside is really nice and relaxing. It'll not win any Michelin stars but as an average get what you expect type restaurant at sensible prices with good friendly service it's pretty good - well we did go back twice!
