Two nights ago we chanced on this place because other nearby restuarants were fully booked. We would have done better to buy a sandwich. Alarm bells rang when the menu stated that if fresh ingredients were not available, frozen or canned might be used - bizarre, but as it turned out - prophetic. We should have walked out after our starters. My mix of cold/smoked lake fish was ghastly - managing to combine toughness, fresh from the fridge blandness and a touch of rancidity all on one plate. It was virtually inedible, and in view of what happened the next day, it might have been better for us if it had been. My wife meanwhile had a bresaola, dressed with a balsamic dressing that had been sitting on the plate so long it had congealed. For our main course we both chose lamb chops, and these duly arrived coated in a glutinous deep brown sludge that I hadn't seen the like of since school dinners in the 1970s. The mixed vegetables lived up to their billing of being either frozen or canned - I think they were a bit of each, but certainly none of them had been growing in the recent past. The waiter was probbaly trying his best, but managed to bring the wrong wine, and seemed preoccupied with managing his pda notepad rather than paying proper attention to customers. This place was a food factory of the worst kind, and should be avoided. It's virtually impossible to make a definite connection, but the next day I suffered from a stomach upset, and my wife was off colour for a day or two. We had shared the worrying cold fish starter. In a town with so many decent, honest places to eat, this excuse for a restaurant deserves to go out of business.
