“Check the times.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 24, 2013

This is the second and higher funicolare. There is only one track, and does not run as frequently as the main one from the new town to Citta Alta. We caught it at about 1pm,and were told that the next one was at 3
pm.

“High”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed May 17, 2013

San Vigilio is the second funicular in Bergamo. It takes you up from the Citta Alta to the very top of the hill, and it's located at the far end of the Citta Alta from the main funicular down to the Citta Bassa - so many people don't make this trip.
It is well worth the ascent for two simple reasons: the views out over the alps are lovely, and there are two good cafe restaurants where you can enjoy them over lunch or a drink.
And it's also good for walking, with a nice villagey feel that's miles away from the urban buzz in the plain below.
Three. Three reasons.

“Great value”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 7, 2013

We bought a 72 hour ticket that allowed us to travel on the bus (inc. from/to the airport) or the funicular - was ca. €7 for unlimited travel. The funicular was a great way to avoid walking up the hill into the top section of the town (it was raining when we visited) - so quick and good fun too!
