“Don't go there”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 17, 2012

We chose the hotel due to its proximity to the airport but we should have gone to the town centre instead and paid a bit more. There is no shuttle bus and you will pay a minimum of €20 per taxi ride to/from the airport or town centre. The hotel has no charm, is out dated and in a commercial , residential area at the outskirts of Bergamo with no restaurants or bars in walking distance. The staff is friendly and the breakfast is good but there is no other reason to stay in this concrete jungle.

That Hotel should be elected as national monument, when 80ies will have some historical interest.
the hotel is untouched, you can find the same furnitures and paintings and rooms that must be now 30 years old.

in any case, I have to say the hotel is not dirty, even if (maybe) the 4 stars have been taken in 1982.

televisions are also from 1980. I have taken a superior: plenty of space, but not very special features included.
a little un-friendly was the breakfast room. Good variety of food in the morning, but opens and 7 AM and it is door is locked by an heavy chain wounded on the handles!!! No jokes.
Restaurant in the evening is good. Personnel is kind and qualified.
I would say, this is fine, but not 4 stars.
nothing around it to eat decently. Bad location except for work.

The rooms, bathrooms and bed were all large and comfortable. The hotel offers a choice of several types of pillow for no extra charge. Breakfast was ample, including eggs, several types of sausages, several types of cheese, cereal, yoghurts, fresh fruit, hot drinks, cakes, breads, rolls, and salads. .I have found the friendliness of Italian hotel staff to be above average, but the staff here exceeded even that.
There is a bus stop right outside the front door. You can get a bus to the central train/bus station, which takes about 10 minutes, or to the downtown shopping area, which takes almost 20 minutes, but which is cheap because the hotel is still within zone 1 for bus travel. From the central station there is a bus which goes right up to the inside of the old city.
Once we saw the hotel, we decided to stay for two nights, and leave for the Milan airport on the final day.
Parking is free, unless you want the car in a locked portion of the garage, in which case there is a charge.
We bought dinner in the hotel dining room which was a bit pricey until we discovered that hotel guests get an automatic 15% discount. We also discovered that we could order dinner in the restaurant from either the restaurant's menu or the room service menu, which are quite different.
The blinds covering the window do good job of blocking out the morning sun, and the little tables next to the beds have nightlights in case you forget to bring your own.
The bathroom sink gurgled a bit in the middle of the night, which we solved by shutting the bathroom door and by stopping up the sink.
The heat in the room wasn't working (possibly too early in the year), but the staff brought us a space heater as soon as we pointed this out.

The front desk staff and restaurant staff were sincerely friendly and very helpful. I attended a conference in the Upper City (Cita Alta) and this hotel was not suitable. The 20 Euro taxi ride (or 1 hour bus ride in traffic), was not suitable for doing anything in the Upper City. I supposed I'm a little spoiled with free wireless internet in most business hotels, but the Hotel Una charge 60 Euro for 3 days of internet connection. The rooms were standard, the beds a bit hard for my liking (and I sleep anywhere), and the most interesting thing was the lack of a plug in anywhere near the desk. You had a place to work on your laptop, but not keep it plugged in at the same time. My room was kept very clean by the cleaning staff. I was happy with the selction of food at breakfast and enjoyed two suppers in the restaurant.
I was charmed by the great service of the staff, but the distance to the Upper City, lack of power outlets, and cost of the internet would stop me from staying in this hotel again.

The two of us had a lovely short stay the evening before departing from Italy (early the next day). It was a pleasant surprise to find our room to be so large, with a real spacious bathroom, too. The bed was massive, you'd get lost in it. The colour scheme was interesting, we found it cheerful, anyway. The most impressive thing was the staff members, who were at all stages very helpful and friendly, anticipating our needs regarding transport to visit the city and a bag breakfast before heading off early next day. A handy location for public transport connections, the hotel is also for congresses, which explains the large scale of things. So, there you are, go for it!

The hotel is very close to the Bergamo airport, which is why we selected it. We arrived in the evening. The direction to the hotel given by Tripadvisor was not good. The hotel gave the impression of a luxury hotel but have moderate prices. The rooms were clean and the staff was service-minded. The buffet breakfast was very good. The hotel was so good so we booked the night before leaving Bergamo airport as well.
