“lovely stay, thank you”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 25, 2012

Stayed 3 nights last week, Maurizio collected us form the airport which was great as wet weather. Lovely room going out onto large terrace, shared bathroom no problem as just next to room. Delicious breakfast with great coffee (looking forward to trying our new coffee machine out which maurizio told us how to first use and keep as the Italians do). Were due to go to venice from Bergamo but local train strike...Maurizo checked our Breschia connection was ok (by going himself to the local train station as he couldnt get through on phone) and then (for a fee to cover costs) drove us to Breschia on the Sunday morning, which enabled us to get to Venice. Thanks so much, will deffinately be back! Lovely accom in spacious and spotless room, very cute dogs, spacious terrace and fab host. Thanks, James and Amanda

Room Tip: the shared bathroom was no problem and traditional furniture lovely..double room opens directly to t...

Stayed here for one night in late March '12 and am very happy to endorse all the good things that have been said about it. Top location, owners genuinely help without being intrusive, the rooms are just unique and spacious and comfortable. Lovely breakfast including delicious apple pie (I know, a bit unusual for breakfast!) - apparently a new recipe by Maurizio. Also, very important, Paola produced a 2nd pot of really good, proper Italian coffee. (Tip: try the little coffee shop round the corner to the left in the little square, can't think of its name but they have little gardens in the middle of each table).
There's something very nostalgic about this B&B.

Room Tip: Our room shared a bathroom with one other room, but as the place is kept spotless it really wasn'...

Maurizio welcomed us with his warm mile at the historical building entrance which is located in the very heart of the city. From the railway station, relaxing walking for 10-15min you will be at the Le5Vie. There is also a Bus directly departs from the Airport which makes a stop not very far from this B&B also. The Room we stayed is spacious and very clean nicely furnished with a kettle for Tea/Coffee. Towels and other bathroom necessities were prepared. The terrace is could be a big living room in the summer time for it's space with chairs and tables. For breakfast Maurizio baked a nice bread just for us together with eggs and fresh orange juice, it was really nice. If you wish a extra-modern, cold, without human contact service, this B&B is not for you. All the opposite is in here. Just walk out from the entrance door you're in the center of Bergamo, relaxing nice walk is promised.
I'd recommend this B&B to all who wish a relaxing stay in this beautiful city.

I stayed with Paola & Maurizio twice, with my family for long weekend and with a business friend during a week visiting a fair in Milan. The hospitality of this young couple is amazing, both apartments they take care of are indeed great. The original B&B next to Maurizio's flat is in an antique style (modern bathroom), very cosy but spacious with a great terrace you share with Maurizio's family. The 2nd apartment around the corner is under the roof in a luxary, but old building - two rooms with 2 separated bathrooms in a perfect condition. Both places are located in downtown Bergamo nearby excellent restaurants. The breakfast is great incl. fresh orange juice and Maurizio's famous home-made cakes. It's hard to imagine that you find a better place to stay at in Bergamo. Go there!

Room Tip: I would choose the roof-apartment during the winter (incl. a fire place) and the place at Maurizio w...

I had to spend 5 days in Milan for a trade expo, and my choices were (1) 150-200 Euro per night in Milan city hotels...with 60 min on the crowded underground to the Rho-Pero Fiera...or (2) 1/3 to 1/4 that cost in beautiful Bergamo...with 75 min on the surface train to the fair. This was not a difficult decision. Bergamo is very charming, surrounded by beautiful mountains, with a walled upper city dating to medieval times. A German colleague recommended Le5Vie B&B, and we stayed in two of their accommodations: 3 nights in a stylish modern apartment on Via Sant'Orsola and 2 nights in their lovely mid-century house on Piazza Pontida. Both were extremely clean and quiet. Of course, the modern and classic rooms had totally different personalities, but both were very comfortable and relaxing. Maurizio and Paola are skilled hosts...unobtrusive when I needed privacy to work...and then charming and talkative when I felt like company. Paola's sweet Italian breakfast of rolls and jam, cake, torte, juice and coffee was fresh and delicious...but when I mentioned wanting something savory, the next colazione included salami, prosciutto, cheeses and a spicy omelet from Maurizio...a sort of quiche, with parmesan flair. He is a man of many talents. Even their dogs, Mia and Shala, are adorable (although Mia will steal your socks if you leave them on the floor). Highlights of Le5Vie B&B include the fantastic neighborhood, with shopping and restaurants (try Al Vecchio Tagliere)...sweet shops and apertivo bars packed with stylish young locals...the overall beauty of Bergamo...and the lovely service from Maurizio and Paola. In a word: Tornerò.

Room Tip: Ask for the bedroom with the antique Sicilian bed that opens onto the large outdoor balcony.

We chose this b&b by chance, after reading all the nice reviews at tripadvisor. The rooms are really wonderful, quite spacious, equipped with very very much love. Maurizio offers a very comfortable accommodation in the middle of Bergamo, with a real Italian flair. We loved the antique furniture, cleanliness and of course Maurizio. We slept very well, because mattresses were good and bed linen were fresh. The breakfast was also lovely, Maurizio served freshly squizzed juice and croissants and made fantastic coffee. This was our first stay at a b&b, and it was even nicer and more cosy and of course authentic than in a hotel. Besides our host Maurizio helped us in choosing sightseeing routs and restaurants, and the food there was delicious. We can recommend this b&b to everyone who wants to feel at home! Thank you very much, Maurizio!
