Not knowing this restaurant, I arrived with high hopes because of the TA reviews. But if I hadn't had the inside knowledge, I wouldn't have bothered. It's in a small square, surrounded by ambulances from the medical centre and opposite the courthouse.
There was no external menu and only one other group in the restaurant when we arrived. But the front of house guy quickly explained that tonight there wasn't a menu, just what they brought us. Slightly sceptical, and expecting to be fleeced, we went for it.
What followed was an outrageous display of culinary professionalism which deserves a Michelin accolade.
Tuna carpaccio with thinly sliced, chili'd scallop was followed by a sensational pasta display - mine had two langoustine sentries guarding it. This quickly led into the piece de resistance; three big cod cooked in the oven with sensational tasting courgettes, peppers and tomatoes.
The tiramisu dessert was the best 4€ I've ever spent.
In short, go. Trust their recommendations, be open minded and enjoy yourself. Bill was 70€ pp including lots of water, wine, coffee and four courses. And yes, they left the limoncello and grappa bottles on the table for us to polish off afterwards.
