“Everything was perfect and the price right”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 13, 2013

We stayed at this hotel for three nights with our 1 year old son, taking advantage of a very good rate (for the hotel and the area) of less than 150€/night.
All the hotel staff has been very polite and friendly, nobody excluded, so they made us feel like home and they fulfilled all our requests.
We arrived by car and could park right after the hotel to unload our bags. As soon as we got off the car, the hotel staff came to collect our bags and took them to our room while we were checking in.
The room was large enough for our family, clean and nice. We stayed at the second floor and we had no sea view (as expected). The bed and especially the mattress were comfortable for us.
The rear door of the hotel, located at the second floor, gives direct access to the pedestrian route to Portofino or Paraggi. This was extremely convenient for us, as the main road can be dangerous for pedestrians, especially at night. Portofino is very close, I would say about 300 meters and you are in the Piazzetta.
We had two dinners at the hotel restaurant, where quality and service were very good, at reasonable prices if compared to the restaurants in Portofino. Also breakfast was of good quality.
I would recommend this hotel to all type of travellers.

Room Tip: Rooms with a seaview do have a greater value, you will have to judge for yourself if it is worth the...

We stayed in this hotel with my wife, my cousin and her husband for just one night. The hotel is small but very nicely furnished. The rooms are spacious, even more than I expected. Almost all rooms have a balcony or a terrace.

The overall cleanliness is good and the staff are willing to help with good English.

But for me, the most important thing was he valet service. There is a temporary parking place right after you pass the hotel. First you park there then after your check-in someone from the staff takes your keys and parks your car in a parking garage and brings it back when you ask without a charge. If you don't already think this is such an important service, wait until you go there.

I think this hotel is a very good option for visits to Portofino as it is very close to the marina (7 minutes walking) and has a great private beach.

Room Tip: the rooms with the sea view are excellent but are a bit more pricey.

Hotel location, view and clean rooms are excellent. Breakfasts are poor. Hotel staff are nice, supporting, but I couldnt get the friendly mood. Why did i expect that? ;)
Remember to arrive hotel by bus from s.margarita l., taxi is expensive, and not necessary.

This hotel is in a perfect spot to enjoy Portofino and comes with enough little extras to offset some minor inconveniences. We loved the overall decor, size of the room and bathroom and the access to it's private beach lounge area. We spend lots of time idling the day away on that beach and even though it's rocky the view and the swimming just couldn't be more perfect. Occasional road noise since the road winds around the hotel and our room was airy and near and exit but it's not like there's a lot of traffic there. Immediate access to the walking path for the short walk into town or over to the neighboring towns. The staff was warm and friendly to us, they took care of the parking and any questions quickly and pleasantly. The bed was a little stiff as others noted but for a reasonable price to enjoy a place in the heart of a dream location like Portofino I was very pleased with this hotel.

Stayed here 4 nights but could have stayed longer. Excellent location with a pleasant off road laneway walk into Portofino town. We did not use our car once here and chose to just relax and enjoy Portofino and walk everywhere. The hotel staff parked our car in a local parking station.

The beach is lovely even though it is all pebbles (bring reef walker type shoes). There are sunlounges on terraces surrounding the beach and also tables and chairs on a dining terrace where your lunch or drinks can be served.

The hotel as a character exterior but a very modern interior. The hotel restaurant served excellent food at a reasonable price. Some of the restaurants in town were quite expensive for the poor quality of food we received.

I agree with other contributors that it would be preferable for the hotel to advise you to park at their rear door while your luggage is unloaded. Only negative for us was the very very hard bedding. We woke in discomfort and ended up laying pillows over the mattress to help with this problem. Even with this issue we would still stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Room Tip: Book seaview room with a balcony or terrace.

3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 29, 2012

On the 25th of December, we fulfilled our dream to spend a night in Portofino, even at a reasonable price, so I shouldn't complain... however some things can be improved; the room was very spacious (probably we got a free upgrade to a superior room), it looked very nice and tidy at first sight, but bed sheets weren't very clean and with some hair on them. Breakfast is not 4-stars-level. There was much noise of running water in the room, probably due to people having showers in neighboring rooms. The staff was nice and helpful. The location is superb, of course, but they should advice people to go out from the back door, because the front door is right on the main road and cars pass by very dangerously.

I was here for a business meeting during winter. I was lucky to pick a sunny weather so that my white furnished room was illuminated with warm Mediterranean sunshine. The rocky beach was a few steps down the road that frankly at this time of the year was really solitary. To wake up and open the window and viewing such Portofino sea view is a gift of life. Hospitality is very accurate and the hotel is very pleasant. It is an old hotel completely modernized but still maintaining the flavor of an Italian ligurian residence.
