Stayed here 4 nights but could have stayed longer. Excellent location with a pleasant off road laneway walk into Portofino town. We did not use our car once here and chose to just relax and enjoy Portofino and walk everywhere. The hotel staff parked our car in a local parking station.

The beach is lovely even though it is all pebbles (bring reef walker type shoes). There are sunlounges on terraces surrounding the beach and also tables and chairs on a dining terrace where your lunch or drinks can be served.

The hotel as a character exterior but a very modern interior. The hotel restaurant served excellent food at a reasonable price. Some of the restaurants in town were quite expensive for the poor quality of food we received.

I agree with other contributors that it would be preferable for the hotel to advise you to park at their rear door while your luggage is unloaded. Only negative for us was the very very hard bedding. We woke in discomfort and ended up laying pillows over the mattress to help with this problem. Even with this issue we would still stay here again and would recommend it to others.

On the 25th of December, we fulfilled our dream to spend a night in Portofino, even at a reasonable price, so I shouldn't complain... however some things can be improved; the room was very spacious (probably we got a free upgrade to a superior room), it looked very nice and tidy at first sight, but bed sheets weren't very clean and with some hair on them. Breakfast is not 4-stars-level. There was much noise of running water in the room, probably due to people having showers in neighboring rooms. The staff was nice and helpful. The location is superb, of course, but they should advice people to go out from the back door, because the front door is right on the main road and cars pass by very dangerously.

I was here for a business meeting during winter. I was lucky to pick a sunny weather so that my white furnished room was illuminated with warm Mediterranean sunshine. The rocky beach was a few steps down the road that frankly at this time of the year was really solitary. To wake up and open the window and viewing such Portofino sea view is a gift of life. Hospitality is very accurate and the hotel is very pleasant. It is an old hotel completely modernized but still maintaining the flavor of an Italian ligurian residence.

We spent 3 nights there. The rooms were spacious, clean, nicely furnished, and a seaview was an advantage. The beds were rather hard. The staff felt somewhat chilly, yet it was no problem to change the room when it appeared that the shower did not function properly. Breakfast was a bit disappointing: scrambled eggs were over long before the end of breakfast-time, and coffee/tea was to be served by the waiter; and it was not always easy to get his attention. Occasionally you could feel the scent of cigarette-smoke in the room.
