“Free parking and shuttle”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 8, 2012

A very spacious room and bathroom. A little way out of town but they were happy to drop us in there (we walked back couldn't get a taxi about 3 k's). Very helpful receptionist who explained Cinque Terre well. Took us to the wharf the next morning and arranged a pick up time from the train station. Breakfast good. An enjoyable stay for two nights.

“Exceed Your Expectations”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 18, 2012

When you first enter this '4 star' hotel you check the address to make sure that you haven't made a mistake. It's located a block from the La Spezia port with all that a port entails. The lobby is dated however when you meet the personal you are in for a pleasant surprise.
The rooms are basic and functional. No frills here,
However the facilities are clean and the staff most courteous and obliging.
A shuttle bus is available to take you to the historical area or to the train station for your trip to Cinque terre.
I would say our experience was 8 on a scale of 10. But don't expect 5 star luxury.

“Not as good as expected”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed October 14, 2012

This hotel is further from town than I would prefer. The hotel does provide a free shuttle, however if you arrive in the afternoon, you have to get a taxi, which is odd, as check-in is in the afternoon.
Front desk staff, Kathy spoke perfect English and was very helpful. The first room I was given was dark and dingy and the bed was as hard as a rock. I was not impressed, and after speaking with Kathy, I was given another room....still very hard bed and flat pillows, as seems to be the norm in Italy. There is no restaurant on the premises, but the free shuttle will take you into town beginning at 6pm and will bring you back as late as 9.30pm. Breakfast was OK, and the waitress will make you cappucino if you don't like the very strong American coffee. The area is not very good, so don't suggest walking solo at nightime. There is a seafood only restaurant around the corner which was OK. Kathy arranged for anyone who was going to Cinque Terre to go by boat, so the shuttle took us to the port where we had a fabulous 2 hour trip. Only 2 English speaking TV channels.

“Great hotel with amazing service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here for one night to do Cinque Terre during our two week trip in Italy. The hotel is well located in La Spezia and has free parking. We arrived around 11am and they quickly got us on a free shuttle bus and off to the train station for our hike. The Cinque Terre is outstanding but that's a whole other review!
Back to the hotel after a long day we were glad to get to our room which was clean and ample sized. Although the room was basic the bathroom was extremely modern and looked brand new. There is a bar but my husband just grabbed a couple of drinks and brought them back to the room as we were tired.
Breakfast was very good. Delicious cappucinos!

“Lovely hotel, a little way from the centre”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 30, 2012

This is a brilliant hotel and a very sensible stop off as it is so close to the junctions of the motorway. But it is a 10 minute bus ride into the town centre. The bus stop is easy to find and the buses are regular.
The hotel provided a great air conditioned room and a good Italian breakfast. Lovely helpful staff too. We stayed two nights and could have easily stayed another two. A brilliant, authentic (no english spoken) pizza restaurant is just near the bus stop too, seek it out for a fab pizza!
