This hotel is well located right near the train station and underground car park if you arrive by car.
The rooms a pleasant and the bathroom are great as they have been recently renovated breakfast was ok and the staff were nice.
This hotel is very good food money a ideal location to get the train to the cinque terre.

Hotel was perfect as location from which to go to Cinque Terra. Roms were quiet, breakfast was good, staff was helpful. Older hotels even when remodeled are not like Marriott and that is what gives them character. Train station access couldn't have been better and like a previous reviewer said, the trains are more like subways and extremely quiet. La Spezia was also fun to explore and less touristy than some cities. We had a great time.

Room Tip: This was first hotel we stayed in that when we entered room, the shutters were closed so the room wa...

Right near the station, 30 second walk to train to Cinque Terre, but you don't hear them, we were at the back of the hotel, nice and quite, super clean, friendly staff that were very helpful with directions, has a locked garage for 20 euro per day, the lift is tiny but works well. Would stay here again

This hotel is in a great location for a base to explore the Cinque Terre. The staff are welcoming, professional and an excellent source of information. The top floor breakfast room provides a very good breakfast. Make sure to dine at the restaurant across the street; an informal atmosphere with fabulous food.
Opposite the hotel is the railway station and its underground pubic car park, which costs 18 Euro a day.
We stayed in Room 15, a “superior room” on the first floor which has the benefit of access to a large shared balcony and had the advantage of being able to log into the free Wi-Fi in the downstairs public areas.
The room had a large comfy bed, a mini bar fridge (no price list, but be careful its not free!). There’s a safe, a jug and instant tea & coffee, a small flat screen tv with Italian-only channels and a (1) robe and slippers.
The bathroom is small as is the shower cubical. The huge shower head puts out a deluge that can be difficult to get away from. To sit on the toilet you have to sit side saddle. A hairdryer & toiletries are provided. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay in a great location for exploring the Cinque Terre.

Wonderful property. Well appointed lobby, helpful front desk, modern rooms, clean. 30 seconds from the train station but you don't hear the trains.

The food was good and the buffet breakfast was made to order for the most part.

We spent two nights in a fourth floor room facing the road, just a base for touring the Cinque Terre (lower level trails closed!). The hotel is visible from the train station and easy to reach. The room suffered a bit from road noise but was clean and with two single beds. The public rooms are better than one would expect at a three star hotel. The waitress in the bar is exceptional, remembering on the second night what we wanted to drink before dinner and our room number. The front desk staff are great. The breakfast buffet is pleasant.

Room Tip: Try asking for a room on the quiet side, which faces a cul-de-sac,

Right by the train station so it makes an excellent base camp for hiking Cinque Terre. Others swear that while hiking the coast you should stay in one of the 5 costal villages, but I disagree, La Spezia is a little more off the beaten path and rides the fine line between touristy and local. You can still walk a short distance for an excellent, inexpensive meal, the ATM's are not bi-lingual and local kids kick soccer balls in the square. Check in was easy, kind of confusing when the clerk told us where our rooms are and where breakfast was, but after one go, it all made sense. The breakfast was good and offered a wide array of choices, beds comfortable and room and bathroom were spacious. Decor was very nice. Train nearby can take you to Cinque Terre in minutes and is easy to follow. Only issue I had was it was a bit warm so I had the windows open and there was a lot of road noise and train traffic.

Room Tip: Try to avoid the rooms on the north east side of the building.
