“Good for a one-night stopover”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed December 27, 2012

Located just 100 m from the railway station leading to the Cinque Terre villages, this «hotel» is, actually a string of four or five guest rooms on the ground floor of an apartment building. The rooms are quite basic, but clean and with brand new furniture. As there is no breakfast offered on the premises, you have to walk around the block to a café where you get a single croissant and a cup of coffee marketed as “Italian” breakfast, which, of course, is not really the case. There are no parking facilities at the hotel itself, so you are referred to the railway station’s underground parking some 200 metres away where you will pay around EUR 20 for an overnight stay. That said, the owner, Simone, is a very courteous and helpful host, ready to provide any information on your stay, local restaurants and nearby tourist attractions, which is very promising if his business expands.

Hotel is situated very close to the train station as well as many restaurants and shops in the area. The lady who checked us in was very helpful and spent time making sure all our questions were answered. Breakfast is a coffee and croissant at a nearby cafe. There weren't many options for our family of 4 in the area at this ame price range. Make sure you schedule a time to meet the staff to get your keys. If you don't have a phone there are a couple phone centers a block from the hotel (in the opposite direction of the railway tracks).

Simone was very friendly and helpful. He was waiting for us near the hotel. He gave us all the tips that we needed, and also gave us a short walk around to show us where everything was. The ones that complain that it is hard to find they probably need better glasses. The place is conveniently located 5 or 600 metres from the train station. If you want to go to Cinque Terre but you don’t want to really stay there, then this is the place to stay. Only about 10 minutes by train. Restaurants there are really great prices and good as compared with 5 Terre. Check out Dai Pescatori short walk through the old center and the little piazza towards the park and the water. When you reach the boat docks, look to your right the restaurant is just there. Delicious seafood and great wines or Italian beer if you prefer. You can actually see what you want to eat, before you order. For you, complainers, free breakfast at the two nearby coffee shops was very good. Great cappuccinos or caffé lattes and delicious variety of briosces.( If you want to pig out, wait till lunch or dinner) PS. Don’t try to be trendy and ask just for “latte” if you do so you will be asked: how do you want your “ latte” (milk): cold or hot?.

Room Tip: Excellent trampolin to the Cinque Terre

Check in was horrible because the manager / owner does not stay there, we waited for 2 hours before I can check in. When he got here he was rude and I felt completely awlful. Rooms are bad conditions, I would definitely not recommend anyone to stay here.

We stayed for 2 nights in May, the hotel is located on the same road as the station, but down the hill on the oposite side - with no distinguishing name to find it by. The location is good, close to shops and ammenities, cost was reasonable, but the breakfast consists only of 1 croisant and a coffee, which is not what you woild normally expect. Only other complaint was that the room was nor serviced during out stay - when I understand the owner had a new baby born. Would recommend with a byo breakfast.

Comfortable, spacious and clean rooms. The host was extremely kind. Very convenient location, close to the train station, restaurants and supermarket. Reasonable price. They should provide better breakfast.

An excellent hotel! Four minute walk from La Spezia train station; the station that takes you to Cinque Terre. It's right near the city center, Simone the owner is extremely friendly and helpful! The hotel was extremely quite, I didn't hear anything the whole night!

The previous person to stay in my room broke the lock off the door, and because of the holiday it couldn't be fixed before my stay. Wasn't a problem at all, Simone offered me the store closet to store my bag and just handed me the key even with all his stuff in it. Even with the lock broken I didn't fell unsafe in the least, however I'm pretty self-sufficient and don't worry that much. However Simone was even prepared to offer that I stay at his house haha.

The hotel is very clean and very comfortable, however there are only five rooms available so book in advance so you can get the room for as long as you need. This hotel really was a good hotel, and good for the price and has free Wi-Fi; so bring your iPhone/iTouch or whatever.
