“La Spezia's Tesoro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

This little bed& breakfast was just perfect for my partner& I whilst visiting La Spezia & Cinque Terre region. The room was lovely and very clean, just enough space to relax after a day of hiking &sightseeing. The staff were AMAZING, FRIENDLY & HELPFUL!
We both have coeliacs &they catered for our gluten-free needs with the included breakfast, which is very rare to find (first place in our 3 weeks of traveling through Europe) !! I would highly recommend this hidden gem to anyone &if we ever come back to La Spezia, I know where I will stay.. Hotel Crismar. Thank you !

Good morning,
thanks for your review!

We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay in our hotel, it is always a pleasure for us if our guests leave La Spezia with a good remember of us :-)!

We confirm that it is possible to have gluten free breakfast, the only thing we need is to know it in advance so we can have the specific food in time.

Thank you again and have a nice european tour or a safe return at home :-)!

We just spent a couple of nights at Crismar Hotel, we really enjoyed it. We used it as a base for a few days of sightseeing in the CT region. Easy walk to train station, shops and restaurants are close by. Hotel was very clean and offered a nice breakfast. The last day we had to leave before breakfast to catch a train, the staff prepared a breakfast to go for us and left it in our room the night before.

One of the main reasons we chose this hotel was b/c the owners responed to every tripadvisor review, good or bad. To me that showed me they cared and wanted the ensure a great visit for every customer. Would definately recommned this nice little place for CT region visits.

Good evening,
thank you for your review, and we hope that you had a nice return at home (or maybe you're still traveling :-)?).

We're pleased to see that you appreciated our hotel, which is located in the historical center of La Spezia, the perfect base for an holiday in Cinque Terre Area.

As we discussed together during your stay, we respond to any review because we think that a little hotel like our can have a special feeling with the guests, not only a "good morning / goodbye" contact, so we remember good everybody.. so why answer only to not positive reviews :-)?

We everybody hope to have you as our guests in the future, thank you again!

My wife and I stayed in this lovely hotel in central La Spezia in mid August 2013. Although there was some construction going on in the building in front of it, the hotel was located off a quiet courtyard, down a short alleyway off the pedestrian mall. The rooms are all named after towns on the Cinque Terre (ours was "Corniglia" - luckily we only had to climb one storey to our room, not the 300-odd steps like its namesake). The room was large and had a nice bathroom. Wifi was free and worked well. The staff and owners are very friendly and helpful. The reception is only manned during certain hours though, so we were requested to pay the bill the night before, which wasn't a problem. The older lady who manned the reception on the Sunday night doesn't speak English, but was delighted that I had a translator iPad app and I muddled my way through the language barrier :-)

The breakfast was continental - we selected the "savoury / salty" option - nice and simple. Barista coffee - yum!

Our stay there was a delightful experience. :-)

Good morning,
thank you for sharing your opinion with us, we are extremely happy that you and your wife spent a nice stay in our hotel and we're sure that also you saw our territory at its best, in middle August :-)!

I would like to thank you also to have had patience with the older lady, which is my mother! She speaks a perfect french but she still have some difficult with english… but for lucky technology helps while she learns better your language :-)!

Thank you again and greeting from La Spezia.

The room was small, but fine for me as I was travelling solo. The bathroom was bigger than many of the other places I stayed in Italy. Great location along the pedestrian street with lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The breakfast options are simple and delicious. The hotel is about a ten minute walk from the train station and the ferry/boat docks, so perfect if you're planning on visiting the nearby Cinque Terre. The owners were really helpful by providing the train and boat schedules to Cinque Terre. The only small complaint I have is you have to get a new wireless passcode everyday, but not a big deal - I just picked it up from the front desk when I returned everyday. I'd definitely stay again!

Good morning,
thank you for sharing your opinion with us.. and the world!

We're pleased to read that you spent a nice holiday in our hotel and La Spezia / Cinque Terre!

Only a small answer to your small complaint: we give to our guests a 10hours voucher for free WiFi connection, and you can have another 10 hours voucher when you finish them (without limits), you can ask to us or take by yourself on the desk if the reception is closed.
Why we do this? It is simple: we want to avoid that all the guests leave laptop/ipad/phone connected in the room also if it is not used with the result that you (and us also!) may have a very slow connection (unfortunately we are not reached by optical fibre connection), so we think it is a good solution. We're sorry if this may cause problems to you, but we hope not :-)!

Thank you and have a nice day,

Isabella Giorgi

I only stayed at Crismar for one night but it was exactly what I needed. The hotel is in a very easy to access location in La Spezia (5 min from train) and the staff was really great. I spent my day traveling to Cinque Terre so I cannot speak of La Spezia but this hotel was only 5 minutes from the port to get to the cruise to Cinque Terre so it was ideal.

My room (the single room) was wonderful. There was AC (which I have found unusual), a small fridge, and a very comfortable amount of space for one person. The room has stairs to get to the bathroom and a great character to it. Also, I felt the price was very fair.

This hotel is a little gem as are its owners. Fabio & Isabella were like parents to our 19 year old daughter travelling alone in Italy. They went out of their way to contact us in Australia to let us know she had arrived safely, late at night after being delayed for several hours.

They were extremely helpful to us in lots of ways and very kindly did her washing for her at no charge. She really enjoyed her stay there and found it to be in a very nice area with good food & convenient to the train station.

I would certainly recommend staying at this hotel - home away from home.

The staff is so nice! it is clean nice and an easy walk from the train station. it seems difficult when there is not full time staff at the desk but they are more than happy to accommodate you and there is actually a phone at the front desk so you can call them day or night if you need help. The cheerful staff really helped to make our stay in cinque terre! Grazie Mille!

Good morning Lauren,
thank you for your nice review, we are pleased that you spent a nice holiday in our hotel and we hope that it was the same for your friends.

It's true, we don't have overnight staff but it is always possible to reach us (24h) with a free direct phone service. We think it is the perfect compromise to be present without disturbing our guests at late hour.

Last but not least, congratulation for your italian, or better: complimenti per il tuo italiano, salutaci il tuo fidanzato.. ed a presto :)!
