Don't go to this hotel if you don't speak Italian. I tried in all the languages I know: English, French, Spanish, German, and even Dutch, but to no avail. If you don't know Italian, then you're in for sign language.
The hotel had promised "Internet connection in the room" to my Italian employer who had arranged the accomodation for me... Yeah right...! The reception staff does not know the meaning of the word "Internet" and after calling "il capo" (the boss), this guy told me on the phone I should "dial 0" for internet and get lost. He would help me the next day.
As it turned out, they were expecting me to dial in to some internet provider using a landline internet connection. But no, they could not give me a phone number and username/password. That was up to me to figure out.
Breakfast: take a seat at the bar and eat a biscuit, along with a typical Italian coffee (2 kg of coffee, dissolved in 2ml of water). Don't like it? Tough...you can also consider skipping breakfast - that's probably better for your health.
The hotel is located right at the seaside, but at about 300m from the container terminal of Genoa-Voltri. So if you're really excited by container ships, you'll love the view, otherwise... tough...
Maybe some positive points too:
- The hotel is located just at the train station - this is very convenient if you want to visit Genoa city.
- There is a big Pan supermarket next to the hotel. So if you don't like the hotel breakfast, you can organize your own food in the supermarket.
