I myself am also Genovese (my mother is from there and it is my Comune after I aquired Citizenship, plus family still lives there and we have a house there). My Great-Grandfather, Grandfather, and various relatives are buried here in the Staglieno Cemetery. The Cemetery is the biggest in the world and requires its own bus system to get around. Whenever I am in Genova, I always head straight my Great-Grandfather's tomb but even on the way, I am met with many historical tomgs, from Mazzini to the Jewish cemetaires. There is even a saint buried here in the Catacomb section.
The best are the histories of the large statues that only Genovesi know. Like the one with the lady and her son's inheritance. Just ask anyone for a story and they will be glad to share it with you.
Be careful though. If you go in the afternoon, I guareentee you WILL see a ghost or too. I know I have.
