If you can book this room, do it. It is the only room in Vernazza
right on the quay (no steps to climb) and gives a unique perspective to this cozy village. Maria and Giacomo have thought of everything
and are gracious hosts. And ask at the fish shop for the new coin laundry. Pricey but handy.

We stayed in Maria Capellinis room for 3 days in April this year and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The room was a delight and Maria has decorated it beautifully. The Unit is quite modern and the bed was comfortable and the bathroom and shower were great. there is airconditioning which I am sure would be needed in the summer months. We used the heating facility and it was very comfortable and heated the room beautifully.
Giacomo met us when we arrived and was so friendly and obliging. We requested 2 extra pillows and they were delivered within 1 hour. The kitchenette was a bonus but unfortunately there was no kettle when we stayed there but when we mentioned it to Giacomo he explained that they did have one but it has fused and they were going to replace it.
The location is so central and right on the waterfront and minutes away from everything.
I would recommend this room to anyone wanting to stay in the Cinque Terra.

Maria and Giacomo are the most amazing people. They are the owners and as soon as we met them we knew we were in good hands. Very helpful and kind people, felt like we were with family.

We stayed in the charming room for 2 nights. It is on ground level right on the piazza in Vernazza so was excellent for us since we had heavy luggage and did not want to climb stairs. The room is very well kept, private and secure. It has a little kitchenette in case you want to make tea or heat up something. It was a really nice place to stop for 2 days after the non stop travel through Rome, Umbria, Tuscany and Florence.

We contacted them directly on email for our bookings and just reconfirmed prior to arrival. Everything went really smoothly and we had no problems.

I highly recommend this place to everyone.

We booked the Charming Room for three nights in April 2008 following reading positive comments by other Trip Advisor members and we were not disappointed. Maria and Giacomo were very hospitable and really tried to make our stay memorable (which it was). We loved the location right on the water and being able to leave the window open at night to listen to the waves. Had no trouble booking direct by email and just had to ring ahead a day or two to notify arrival time by train so that Giacomo could meet us. The room was clean and special touches like fresh flowers are noticed and appreciated. There were also several restaurants within no more than a 2-3 minute walk. For us the village of Vernazza was the perfect location - the first day we walked from Vernazza to Corniglia to Manarola to Riomaggiore, which took us about 4.5 hours (we weren't hurrying, but enjoying the walk, views and interesting villages along the way). We then caught the ferry back from Riomaggiore to Vernazza (25 mins). On our second day we did the more challenging walk from Vernazza to Monterosso which took us about 1.5 hours, and caught the train back to Vernazza. Unfortunately our stay coincided with Liberation Day (a public holiday) which meant plenty of day trippers along the Cinque Terre and it was very, very busy on the tracks and in the villages. Would definitely stay in Vernazza again and at Maria and Giacomo's. Great value and great memories.
