“Great experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 2, 2013

We stayed here 4 nights and enjoyed it immensely even though there was some noise and dust due to some construction work going on in front of the hotel at the time. The hostess was wonderful and the restaurant at the foot of the hotel was interesting and welcoming run by two brothers who are both characters. Do not ask them for eggs at breakfast - they will tell you when in Italy, eat what the Italians eat. The location of the hotel is good being only 5 mins walk from the railway station. Our room was a good size and very clean. The linen was changed daily. Wi-Fi was free with the reception being good in our room but not necessarily so in other areas of the hotel. Bathroom good. No air conditioning but the ceiling fan was adequate.

We stayed here for two nights and given the choice of hotels/rooms available in 5 terre, we were satisfied with our room. It was more like an apartment with a number if rooms. However points to note:

1. No air con is available there is however a ceiling fan
2. Not sure if this is in all rooms but we had a queen size bed with a double mattress which meant there was a gaping hole between the mattress and frame of the metal bed.
3. Shower is tiny my husband barely fit in there.
4. The towels are more like bed sheets
5. The walls are paper thin we were woken at 7am everyday by the either guests chatting in the hall way.
6 every time the door opened to get into apt we could hear it.
7. Be prepared to carry around the room key

On the positive side it's in a great location away from the noise and flock of tourists yet close enough (<5 mins to other side of town!) 2 mins from train station. There is a laundromat next to the apt. The room was clean and refreshed everyday.

Overall ok place to stay, but definitely not worth the price ( we paid 100 euro per night, approx 140$ usd), you are better off renting an apt with a kitchen balcony etc which would be cheaper...

Tucked away at the top of a hill above the train station is a charming little hotel with clean rooms and a friendly staff. Conveniently located, we had a small room with a balcony that offered no real view, but it was just what the doctor ordered. Things are small here in general. We are still smiling at the thought of having to pick up anything dropped in the shower, or the two-person/one person-one suitcase limit to the elevator. But the sheets and towels are spectacularly clean and soft, and housekeeping is impeccable. We would recommend it to anyone for a two- or three-night stay.

Room Tip: Do ask for a room with a balcony and DO make certain there is a fan in the room, as there is no air...

This hotel was very convenient to the train station and other attractions in Vernazza. You are conveniently connected to all of the other cities in Cinque Terre via train or ferry. Our hostess who welcomed us upon arrival (two couples renting two rooms) was very kind and spoke English.
The rooms were clean, nice bathrooms, and very comfortable. Security was excellent with locked access to the building as well as our floor. The rooms were not huge but certainly adequate. The restaurant downstairs with the pirate by the door was a plus for breakfast - homemade pastries every morning. Would definitely stay here again.

We used this hotel as a base for our two days stay in cinque terre and served its purpose perfectly,Very close to the train
Station and the centre of town because vernazza is very small, room was clean and stylish and the staff were very friendly.

This room is a very short walk from the Vernazza train station (3 minutes). It's not a normal, fully functioning hotel, it's more like rooms for rent. But it was perfect. The decor is lovely. The place was clean and we had a balcony room overlooking the road below.
It was just across the road from the starting point of the hiking trail from Vernazza to Monterosso.
The owner allowed us to check in quite late by leaving the room key with the restaurant which is just downstairs (Piarata Cafe). Pirata has the best food! It's delicious and fresh. We were also able to leave our luggage in the office area after we had checked out.
I would definitely recommend it.

Room Tip: Request a room with a balcony, on a higher floor.

La Perla della 5 Terre was a wonderful place to stay while in Vernazza, CT. I booked two rooms for two couples (one double room/one triple room). The booking process (Booking.com) was very easy and the rooms/amenities were as advertised. It does NOT have a harbor view, but it is conveniently located and an easy walk. There is a restaurant adjacent that has very good breakfast – homemade pastry. The staff spoke English and was very professional and accommodating. I would stay here again and will recommend it gladly.
