“Worth Every Euro for the View”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013 via mobile

My wife and I recently visited the Cinque Terre region of Italy. In the town of Vernazza we serendipitously stopped at Ristorante Belforte. At the bar area, I asked for a table for two. Turns out I was talking to owner and he gave us a table on the outside edge of the lower patio overlooking the sea. And what a spectacular view it was! We ordered salads and seafood specialties of the Ligurian region for lunch along with the house white wine. All were delicious. The service was very attentive and friendly. Coincidently we were seated with a young couple from the NYC area. We struck up a wonderful conversation and found that we even had a common connection. Small world.

“Great seafood, great view and a great host!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 19, 2013

Make sure you book this restaurant.... it was raining the day we went and there is very limited seating indoors and we saw them turn away multiple groups who hadn't booked... even if it's nice weather, I think you'd still need to make a reservation. And ask for the terrance...the views are great!

Food: Great seafood...we shared the Zuppa Michaela (a seafood broth with mixed seafood) and a pasta dish, both of which were great, tasty and just really well cooked seafood. We spent around 70Euro for the 2 of us which we thought was good value for money

Atmosphere: Great friendly atmoshphere set in a 1000 year old castle turret

Service: Andrea was the host and he was great and friendly, couldn't ask for a better host
While waiting for the restaurant to open, we also met the chefs, who were reawlly friendly and fun! Motti is crazy! haha took pictures with them too

Overall:
Great restaurant with great food at a reasonable price!
Would def recommend and would go back again

“Unexpected Pleasure!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 17, 2013

Our tour visited Cinque Terre on a rainy day. With raincoats on, we stumbled upon this restaurant by way of the kitchen first. It was windy and pouring rain. We wanted to taste sardines and before you knew it, the owner brought out 3 glasses of proseco and a plate of sardines prepared by him. We asked the owner if we could eat outside with the rain and wind. He thought we were crazy and laughed. He prepared the table with wine, plate settings and we took pictures with the kitchen crew and him. A strong wind came through and he escorted us through the kitchen and made us sit at a table. He prepared an incredible dish of pasta, mussels, clams and sauce. This was the best experience I had. We even had the owner laughing at us because he said he would have done the same thing. Don't miss this place.

“Unbeatable Sunset Views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2013

Per recommendation of a friend, we got the octopus salad - melt-in-your-mouth DELICIOUS! Has the consistency of scallops, not chewy, fresh and not fishy tasting... unbelievable. Must order! Another must-order dish is the pesto pasta - the pasta is freshly made, and the pesto is to die for.

The dinner was incredible, needless to say. However, the views and experience were even better! Such an incredible venue, the staff was incredible, and the head chef is personally invested and involved in everything that goes out on the table. TIP: head over there early in the day to request a reservation for the tables on the terrace!!
