“Good food, great staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 4, 2012

We went up for breakfast and enjoyed both the food and the service. We had cappacino's, Orange juice, croissants, one filled with salami, and a special pastry of dough covered with sugar and filled with ricotta cheese. Evidently this is highly recommended by Rick Steves and he was right.

“The Cannoli Brothers Rocks”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 2, 2012

A delightful breakfast experience. The most charming host I've ever encountered. Food isn't bad either. Sicilian pastries are their specialties. A visit to Vernazza wouldn't be complete without stopping here for coffee & a chat.

“Fun, friendly, and great food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

Mossimo was absolutely hilarious and loves chatting with all of his customers...you can tell right away this is a great place to sit down and have a bite before you even get inside.

We went here for breakfast on both days and had a variety of pastries, they were all delicious. We basically just asked him to pick items out for us and just went with it, they were all great.

Some places you can tell just don't really care that much about their customers, especially when they are tourists. That is not the case here at all...come here, feel welcome, and eat some delicious food!

“Hilarious chefs and good food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 1, 2012

We had a pleasure dinner at the restaurant, the twin chefs loved to joke in a very italian way like in the movie, enjoyed our dinner so much while the chefs constantly telling us jokes. On the last day of our trip in Cinque Terre, we were trying to catch train before 7.30am, thought of getting some pastries for breakfast, the chef was so nice to quickly packed some pastries for us when he saw us waiting at the door.

“Nicest Guys in all of Vernazza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

We were staying in one of the rooms adjoining the Il Pirata and we decided to stop by for an early breakfast. We just got a crusty roll thingee filled with lemonish cream and a bruschetta delivered to us by one of the funniest and nicest guys in all of Italy, whose English was immaculate--It was awesome. My partner and I decided that after a day of hiking we would come back there for dinner. We came back and had Pesto Gnocchi, also Awesome. Had a great time in a cozy atmosphere where we got to meet fellow travelers. Our apologies to the twins for the rowdy behavior later in the night, hey three bottles of wine and a whole day of hiking will do that to you, but we were treated with great care and had an Awesome time. How does this place not have 5 stars?
