“A GREAT END TO OUR STAY IN VERNAZZA!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

We spent 3 nights in Vernazza, from where we explored the Cinque Terre. Our accommodation was next to Il Parata and was therefore the most convenient stop for breakfast. The twin brothers and owners, Massimo & Gianluca (still don't know who's who!) were great hosts and kept us laughing since the first moment we walked into the restaurant! We couldn't have made a better choice for our last dinner in the CInque Terre - the food and service were outstanding! The Sicilian pastries were amongst the best we had on our trip in Italy!! May Il Parata be around for many years to come - hopefully I will one day be able to dine there again!

“Awesome spot”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 6, 2012

My wife and I were staying in the square, but ventured up to the Pirate restaurant mainly for the free Internet. We ended up staying for 2 dinners and 2 breakfasts. The price of the food is very reasonable, especially relative to other places nearby.

The food is delicious and the brothers are hilarious, but extremely hard working. They are very helpful to make a recommendation for breakfast/dinner/dessert. Spending time with them, their patrons and their desserts made for some of the best memories of our trip.

“Best part of Italy”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

The whole experience was amazing. After spending 3 weeks touring around Italy I can safely say this was indeed the best breakfast, best dinner, and best staff in all of Italy. Our hotel was right next door so it was a convenient and exceptional why to start the day. The assortment was always changing and not a single pastry anyone in my family tried was ever anything but spectacular. We ate there every morning and never got bored. The smoothies were perfect and the prices very reasonable and quite refreshing after being fleeced at most other restaurants in Italy. The dinners were the best in Italy. So good we came back for our last night. Even dishes we were underwhelmed by in the rest of Italy stood out. Desserts were unsurpassed. With option for younger kids and a incredibly friendly atmosphere. The brothers kept you in stitches the whole time. Charming, classy and funny the whole package they were all the entertainment you needed. Absolutely unparalleled truly truly truly worth the trip up the road, or short train if you are visiting from other cities. Can't be missed.

“Last night in Vernazza”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 3, 2012

Ate here on our third and last night in Vernazza. Wish we would have gone on our first night as well. Food very fresh and great flavor. Most of the restaurants in the Cinque Terra serve pretty identical menus. The pirate had a better variety and just ask what they recommend you will not go wrong. Owners are twin brother who are so happy to talk with you, they are like a whirl wind both loving what they do. We are not desert people but heard about their house made sweets and asked them to bring us what they thought was best and it was a light pana cotta surrounded with fresh fruit delicious. If the town is busy make a reservation we were lucky to get in and sat with another wonderful couple in this small treasure.
Hope to make it back sometime.

“Love the Pirate!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 2, 2012

The breakfast pastries are to die for (Rick Steves agrees). And the owners (the Cannoli twins) were very accommodating by preparing a plate of meats, cheese, tomatoes, pesto, eggplant etc. for my gluten-sensitive husband.
