We stayed in the Marco Polo Suite, The view was spectacular,,, My daughter called when we arrived we had no reservations and we lucked out with the Marco Polo Suite. Emiliano met my daughter and carried my luggage and my daughters up to La Baia di Rio,,,, our host Mother and Son were very charming and helpful,,, the room was clean and comfortable . It was a wonderful stay and I would highly recommend any one who is going there to book The Marco Polo Suite!!! I know if I ever go back there I will be staying there! What a quaint little town the people friendly,,,, the food amazing,,, Thank you again Maria and Emiliano for your hospitality !

Room Tip: I would definately be asking for an Ocean view!

We were greeted by Maria Stella, Emiliano's mother, at the train station. She walked us all the way up to la Baia di Rio, explaining everything as we went along. It was a bit too much information, & she didn't end up following through on some of the tips she first mentioned. Our room faced the mountain/town (interesting fact was that Maria Stella was born in that room!). There was another window on the adjacent wall, but shutters wouldn't open, so it was a little dark. The room was very spacious & clean, although we only had access to one little closet. The bathroom was also very spacious.
Some strange notes on this place - after the first night, the bed was made for us & that's it. After the 2nd night the towels were replaced, but the bed wasn't made up...?
Negatives - fridge was located in the bathroom - extremely unsanitary! Also, TV was broken - thank God wifi was working!

Room Tip: If you can afford a room with an ocean view, it would be optimal & you would get the 'full...

We arrived in Cinque Terre after 4 crazy days in Rome. Emiliano and his mother were wonderful hosts and made our stay perfect. The view was perfect, the room clean and comfortable. Emiliano went over the train schedule, boat schedule and gave us restaurant, wine and food tips. Couldn't ask for anything better and will definitely stay there again on our next trip.

We arrived in La Spezia from Rome and rushed onto the train to Riomaggiore. Couldn't get off as we were too far back in the train and the door wouln't open! Got off in Manarola and caught the train back to Riomaggiore! Our first adventure! We were met by Emilio who took our bags to his car, then transported us the short distance to the apartment. He carried our bags up to the top floor where we greeted by the fabulous view across the town and the bay. Apartment was as expected. Comfortable, clean and basic. We really only ate breakfast there and slept, so the tiny kitchen area was used for coffee/tea making. Walking into the village was easy, although our legs screamed at all the stairs the first day or so.
We found the small Coop/mini markets great for fresh ham, cheese and milk etc. my wife is celiac, but that was quite easy. Restaurants we ate in we're all accommodating and the meals better than we found in Rome.
The apartment was freshened daily, new towels etc. and Maria and Emilio couldn't have done more for us.
Emilio told us a laundry would be installed in the basement later this year and wifi (available fr first floor apts) will be available once cabling etc is installed.
A great place to spend a few days and explore the Cinque Terre.

This was a very nice location, inland a bit but with great sea and town views. I especially appreciated it the nights the sea was rough; being in a bit helped deaden some of the noise. It's located at the crest of one of the paths from the train station to the main plaza which worked out very well because Emiliano and Maristella me us at the station and drove us to the front door. When we left, hauling our stuff down the hill to the station was a welcome change from what seems to be constant up-hill walking in the area. The room was comfortable and very clean. Emiliano and Maristella don't live on the premises, but were around periodically and changed towels. Beautiful town.

This hotel was so nice, clean and locally owned. We had a sea-view room for 3 with a balcony and the views were incredible. Emiliano and his mother were the most welcoming people and he even picked us up from the train station upon arrival. The beds were comfortable and all you could hear were the waves washing up on the harbor at night. There was also a train strike in Cinque Terre on the day of our departure and we ended up staying there one more night thanks to them. I would definitely stay here again!

We stayed two nights in La Baia di Rio on the tail end of our trip through Italy. Our room had a great view of not only the sea, but the village as well. It was exactly what we needed - a place to relax while we explored the towns of Cinque Terre. Yes, you have to walk up a winding hilly road or up some stairs - but guess what - you have to do that where ever you stay. The town is built into a cliff so if you have issues going up and down hills/stairs, you might want to think about other destinations. Emiliano and his mother were quite helpful and gave us a good introduction to the town and some basic directions to find our way around.
