“Unsurpassed hospitality at this beautiful B&B!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 12, 2013

I am not certain where to start. I am getting a little emotional just thinking about our time at Il Giardino Incantato as it was absolutely wonderful. My husband and I got married in Vernazza in June 2013 and were fortunate enough to have booked this amazing B&B for five nights to use as our home base. It is in a great central location in Monterosso but tucked away on a side street so it stays very quiet. Fausto and Mariapia were the most gracious, generous, and thoughtful innkeepers we have ever encountered. The enchanted garden was stunning with beautiful blooms of hydrangeas, roses, lilies, fuschias, and lemon trees. It made for the perfect setting for our made to order breakfasts and was a lovely place to enjoy some of Fausto's homemade limoncino in the afternoons. Breakfast includes delicious breads, meats, cheeses, eggs, yogurt, fruit, and just about anything else you would want. We typically didn't need to eat lunch after this big breakfast. They even stock your rooms with fresh fruit, beverages, and snacks. The rooms are romantically designed and Mariapia's flower arrangements add an extra special touch. Fausto invited our party of 15 to have Prosecco and appetizers in the garden before our wedding. Everyone was overwhelmed by the beauty of the gardens. This is truly the best B&B ever. We look forward to staying here again on future anniversary trips to Italy.

Room Tip: All rooms are beautiful and quiet.

Il Giardino Incantato was by far the BEST place my husband and I stayed while on our two week vacation in Italy. It actually may be one of the best B&Bs we have ever stayed at. The reasons are many, but mainly because it hits every single nail on the head – the owners Mariapia and Fausto are two of the warmest, sweetest people we have ever met and so eager to make sure we were having a good stay. The location in the old town of Monterosso was perfect; right in the middle of everything yet in a quiet alley. The garden was an absolute oasis and words cannot describe how nice it was to have breakfast there in the morning (and the breakfast itself was top notch with excellent service!) or to sit out there in the evening candlelight with a bottle of wine. The room was spacious, especially the huge clean and modern bathroom. The amenities surpassed every other place we stayed with cold drinks and snacks and fruit in the room. You may even be lucky enough to come home to homemade lemoncello on the buffet like we did! I wish we could have stayed longer and I hope to return one day. If you are going to Cinque Terre, stay here!

The one thing that I miss the most about our stay in Europe is this wonderful B&B. It is the first place that we stayed on our 3 week tour of Europe for our 30th wedding anniversary. Our room was the Golden Suite which was lovely. The room was stocked daily with drinks, cookies and fresh fruit. The breakfast was made to order and served in a secret garden lovingly cared for by MariaPia. It was so relaxing and beautiful that we spent part of an afternoon there surrounded by lemon trees, hydrangeas and roses. In the evenings we were greeted with home made Lemoncello and Grappa. The room service was excellent ,friendly and very efficient! The Hosts, MAriaPia and Fausto were so warm and friendly that we lost ourselves and misread our train ticket to Florence! It made for a frantic and abrupt departure with only 17 minutes to get to the station lugging our suitcases in the rain!! We somehow made with our train being at the station as we ascended the last set of stairs!! We have to go back!!!!

This is by far one of the best places we've stayed. A quaint little B&B in Monterosso, just off the main street. Looking for a clean, elegantly decorated, spacious and comfortable room? Check, How about having a royal breakfast every morning in a private garden complete with lemon trees? Check, Stocked minibar? You get the idea. The owners, Mariapia and Fausto, really go the extra mile to make the stay enjoyable. Homemade limoncello everyday, turndown service, the whole 9 yards. We will definitely be going back.

Tucked away on a quiet side street/alley off the busy main drag, The Enchanted Garden is a relaxing spot. Breakfast is served across the alley in a lovely enclosed secret garden loaded with lemon trees and hydrangeas. When it rained one morning, we were served in our room. And such service! We'd go to breakfast (cooked to our order placed the afternoon before), which was beautifully served at our own private table, and by the time we returned to our room, the bed was made and fresh towels were in place. The room came with a basket of fruit - replenished each day. The complimentary mini-bar had everything from juice to soft drinks to water to beer. Fausto and Mariapia make their guests truly feel like VIPs. I've stayed in many B&Bs over the years, but none with this kind of over-the-top service.

Fausto and Mariapia have a beautiful B&B on a narrow and quiet side street of Monterosso. Breakfast is served in a walled garden area meticulously maintained. The hosts are lovely and very accommodating, rendering brilliant service but never in your way. A truly great experience in magical Cinque Terre.

Very nice rooms, very clean, owner was very helpful, and loved the breakfast spot in our own isolated garden amongst lemon trees.

Also free home-made lemoncello whenever you like is a nice touch!

Highly recommended
