“Good location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

This B&B hotel is situated at the end of the main street furthest away from the railway. This ensures a quiet nights sleep. It is also very convenient as no hills need to be climbed to reach it. About 10 minutes from the station.
The hotel is well appointed and the décor is bright and fresh. Breakfast is very good and the bar and lounge area is comfortable.

We stayed at Hotel Margherita on a recent trip to Cinque Terre. Located in the old town, it is on the central shopping strip and a very easy walk from the station - not up hill like many others.
Room was small but clean and comfortable. Deserved a much high rating than the 3 stars it has. The room was recently renovated and is well presented.
The real attraction was the helpfulness of the staff - particularly Vanessa. She was great in showing us how to get places even though a number of roads and paths were closed due to landslides in the area.
There are a number of restaurants nearby and although many were closed for winter, we were able to try a couple of different ones during our stay.
Breakfast selection was great - typical European spread of fruits, pastries, cereals and meats/cheeses.
A couple of things taking my rating from 5 down to 4... The room was quite small with not a lot of room for bags etc. The walls were quite thin so we could hear our neighbours conversations. The mattress was quite firm, though we understand this is common in European hotels.
An excellent stop otherwise and would return and recommend to others.

Hotel Margherita is an excellent choice to experience the Cinque Terra region. Good location, reasonable price and good service. Only drawback is small rooms but you are not there for the room but the experience of Cinque Terra. Best to arrive by train - short walk. If you arrive by car - better to park in the city lot just north of Monterossa. Hotel may be able to help with parking.

We stayed here on our European honeymoon and enjoyed it. Fantastic location, rooms were nice enough and staff friendly enough. Nothing really memorable about this hotel but nothing negative either. Great for middle of the road accommodation for a good price.

The hotel location was great- only a couple of minutes to walk to the water, restaurants or the train. The rooms were great- ours was fairly small but big enough for the two of us. The hotel is very modern looking and the beds were very comfortable. Breakfast was also included, which is always a bonus!
The town was fairly dead, I would recommend to visit in the summer if you can!

As a solo, female traveler this place was absolutely perfect!!! The staff was super helpful, the location perfect, the value immense! The town is so small bit this hotel was in the heart of it all! Free WiFi made it easy to stay in touch with friends/family at the end of each of my days. WHEN I return to Monterosso, I'll most definitely stay here again!

This hotel offers modern rooms in Old Monterosso. We were given a Junior suite in the new building at the price of standard room because they had lost our reservation. We had a printed copy of their E-Mail confirming our reservation, so the problem has been solved quickly.
The Junior Suite was modern and on two levels. It look as if they had just finished renovating it with everything sparkling and looking brand new.
The breakfast room is in the main building.
We will stay there again when in Monterosso and try a room in the main building.
