“2nd stay & hopefully not my last - love this place”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 23, 2013

Great value, charming owners, great breakfast, free delicious lunches! Such a cute little place not far from anything. Beach is a minute walk away. There's a fantastic view & tanning area in there high garden. Easy stroll to the train station. Old town is defiantly the place to stay. Rooms are a good size & clean. Bathrooms are a good size also.

My wife and I stayed here in May 2012 for part of our honeymoon and we loved it. The owners are young, outgoing and super friendly - we enjoyed meeting them. The service was excellent and we enjoyed the food served for breakfast and lunch - an amazing deal to have both meals included in the price. The building is located nicely in town and the set up of the building and its gardens are wonderful. We also enjoyed having a kayak available to get out on the water. We would highly recommend this place.

Thank you Albergo Marina for adding to our wonderful memories of Italy. We experienced everything the Albergo Marina had to offer. We stayed in a quad room with out young adult kids while our Parents stayed in a single king. Or room featured open shutters to the village street below....loved it. The rooms were well appointed and comfortable. The breakfast and happy hour were plentiful and tasty. We enjoyed wine, prosciutto, and parmigiana-regiano in the Lennon garden in the sunshine while soaking in the view of the village and the bay. Lived it!

I cannot say enough about this wonderful hotel. The rooms are comfortable and cozy and very clean and the view of the garden from our window was romantic. The staff and owners are wonderful - very helpful and friendly. The entire hotel was very nice. We sat on the patio surrounded by lemon trees. The location was perfect - we will be back and will stay a week next time. The food at the hotel was fantastic - the breakfast was amazing each morning and the afternoon pasta was delightful. The restaurants in Monterosso were wonderful and the water is beautiful. We took a hike up to the convent and saw some amazing views. The vineyards are so pretty to look at. The fact that they speak very good English was a bonus - the stories they told us of the flood were very interesting and gave us a new perspective as we walked around the town. I highly recommend, without reservation, this hotel.

We loved our stay here. We were welcomed on a very hot summer day with a personal beach bag filled with towels, we were shown where to get ice cold water whenever we wanted to refill our water bottles, and we were also shown where snorkeling and kayak gear were available free of charge. So welcoming! We took advantage of the free kayak and paddled to a waterfall accessible only by water. Each day we woke up excited for the homemade breakfast that the owner made himself. Crepes filled with our choice of ingredients was our pick every morning and it was beautiful eating in the lemon garden. The place is small, but authentic and genuine and kept very clean. We spent early afternoons sitting on our balcony which gave us a taste of life in old town Monterosso. The owners are friendly and helpful, it is definitely a place we'd stay at again.

We were recommended Albergo Marina by a friend and it definitely didn't disappoint! We stayed for two nights in August 2012 and couldn't have been happier.

While off the beach you are right in the middle of the old town in Monterosso and close to lots of wonderful restaurants. And nothing is too far apart in Monterosso in any case so getting around was easy.

Marina and her staff were super friendly and more than happy to help with lots of advice as to how to approach the five towns walk. Beach towels being included with the rooms is a really nie touch and was definitely appreciated. As was the airconditioning as it was super hot while we were there.

The breakfast was also delicious (in partciular the omlette which you can either design your own or be surprised!) and plentiful. I would definitely recommend this place to others looking for a beautiful couple of days in cinque terra,

We stayed two nights at the Hotel Albergo Marina in Monterosso and it was a great choice. It is a family run hotel (Marina and Eraldo) but it felt more like family than a typical hotel. The decor is well suited for the area and the rooms are very clean. Each room is equipped with a small refrigerator. The morning breakfasts were delicious and plentiful - made to order omelets and waffles, with meat, cheeses, breads, pastries, fruits, yogurt, juices etc and wonderful tasting coffee. In the afternoon they had a lovely pasta luncheon with your choice of sauces, a salad and some fruit - a very nice touch to the hotel. A great place to stay when visiting this area and will definitely be back one day. A beautiful area to visit. Thanks Marina and Eraldo for making our stay pleasant.

Room Tip: The hotel is located on a quiet street no traffic on the streets - any room would be good.
