“Two nights at Buranco”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 19, 2012

We drove there and had a little trouble finding the place. Small sign and parking not well marked. Had to hike down really big hill to find someone. Our cars stayed at the top and the luggage was taken up and down on a little tractor. I'm not kidding when I say it was hike. Breakfast was included but very meager and service was not super friendly. Took me days to confirm our reservation and I never did meet the person who took it. Beautiful location, but wouldn't stay there again. Will stay down in town the next time. Not a lot of hot water; ended up taking a quick cold shower on a chilly rain stay.

“Wine tasting and tour of the winery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 1, 2012

We walked up to this winery from the old town, a short walk, where Angelo gave us a tour of the grounds, the lemon trees, the honey bees and the flowering capers growing on the wall. Sitting on the patio amongst beautiful flowering plants, we were served each wine with snacks: cheese, olives, meat, bread with olive tapenade, chopped fresh tomatoes, and pesto. The dessert tastings were Sciacchetra, a dessert wine served with a spongey cake, Limoncello and Grappa. An amazing evening.

“Go for wine tasting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 27, 2012

What a wonderful, relaxing way to spend my birthday. The wines were delicious and food paired with it was delectable. I bought two jars of honey and am still enjoying them!

“A delightful "hidden gem"”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 17, 2012

We more or less stumbled upon this small winery behind the old town while we were hiking. Fortunately for us, we were just there at lunchtime. And while they said they did not serve food with the wine tastings, we managed to do very well with the bruschetti, olives and other small snacks they brought.

We also got a full history of the excellent winery, a clear explanation of the local Cinque Terre wine styles, and several glasses of very nice wine. And when we succumbed to the temptation to load up, they even delivered it all to our hotel without charge. As we were leaving, the winemaker wandered in and seeing our interest (as confirmed by our purchases) offered a tour of the facility itself, topping off a perfect mid-day break.

One thing to note ... they also do a B&B with 3 or 4 small cottages on the grounds. Something to keep in mind fo rnext time.
