“Good Location, Nice Hotel, hard bed”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed May 29, 2013

I saw other mediocre reviews and was expecting the worst. When I got there, the hotel was nice/clean, the staff was helpful, the room was spacious, and it looked as though it had been recently redone. I was very pleasantly surprised...... then i went to bed that night. The bed was so hard. I'm pregnant and did sleep well at all.... and my husband who usually doesn't mind a firm mattress said it was even too hard for him. I'm so glad we only stayed here one night. I might not have survived much longer.

Stayed here for one night, but the place had the feel of just waking up from winter hibernation.Rooms were ok,but a spring clean wouldn't have gone amiss.Slow to respond to emails and not responsive at all to telephone calls made once in Italy.Several telephone calls went unanswered.Phoned booking.com in desperation and they did not get any response either! Advised by booking.com to honour the booking so we did and there was someone there after all, much to our relief! Would not stay at this hotel again and in all honesty would not be comfortable recommending anyone else to either....check out other options available in Monterosso.

We stayed here on a one night stop over passing through the Cinque Terre. On a positive note, the location was perfect, within walking distance of the beach and restaurants. However that's where the positives end. We had been attempting to contact this hotel weeks prior to our visit, as their instructions were to reserve parking. Given that they don't respond to either phone or email, this is a little hard to do. On contacting booking.com, where we made the original reservation, we were informed that they also had trouble contacting the hotel.
The hotel itself is aged and in need of an upgrade. The room smelt musty and the blankets were dusty. The beds were the hardest i have ever slept on.....or not slept on in this case. We were offered one hour free Wifi, so that was good.
The service was lacking, in fact the receptionist was more enthusiastic about her own mobile phone, than providing service to the clientele.
We were told that there would be no one on site from 8.30pm until 7:30am. This is fine, however we were not given any emergency contact details, if anything had gone wrong.
We loved the Cinque Terre and would visit again....however would give this hotel a miss and think you should also....there are plenty of alternatives.

We booked a night at Villa Accini using booking.com.
When we arrived at the hotel the receptionist informed us without any apologies that there was no room for us and that we had to go to another hotel (Hotel Palme: horrible, the only four-star hotel with youth-hostel furniture I have ever seen).
She added that the reason for the overbooking was ours because we had booked the hotel late in the morning. Ridiculous, since we even got a confirmation email.
Later on booking.com informed us that Villa Accini had to cancel our reservation because our credit card data was wrong. Clearly, this was simply a lie to avoid the filing of overbooking practice which seems to be a standard in this hotel.
Summary: stay away from Villa Accini or, at least, ask four or five times confirmation of your booking (but you will never know anyway if you will finally get a room...)

My wife and I spent a weekend in new Monterosso and stayed at the Villa Accini. We took the train and found the Villa fairly close (and within walking distance). It is seriously off the street, if you will, and you have to be looking for the sign as soon as you turn onto the street and walk under the train overpass -- the fence gate is to the right as you start uphill. And it is a steady walk up the hill. If it is hot, you will sweat. If you are lugging luggage, you will tote it or roll it yourself. The Villa is a good 100 yards uphill, and there is no doorman to run down and bring your baggage up the hill. In this respect, it is not a full-service hotel, so please don't come with those expectations and get frustrated with the staff. On the other hand, the grounds are nice and the walkway (also the road for small cars up the hill) is covered with wisteria. The staff was helpful but not "gushing" --- the room was sparse, but really very comfortable and quiet. Great bed, btw. We did not have much of a view from our room, but we were not expecting one. Honestly, the room was modest but nicely priced -- so many rooms in Monterrossa were quite expensive, particularly for the weekend, so we were very happy with our choice. The breakfast was fine but simple. Wifi was available for a charge in the lobby (only). The area is spectacular and although it was very crowded (it was a July weekend, after all) we would book the Accini again (and pack lighter). If you go, eat at Miky's -- the best in old Monterossa).

A small, quiet and cozy hotel, set in the background of the rather busy street of Via Fegina, but still only 100m from the beach. We were lucky and got room 11 which has a large terrazzo. The service was excellent. We will gladly visit again.
