Cinque Terre was a 3 day stop for us as part of a 12 day Italian vacation. Without a doubt, Monterosso is the best of the 5 towns for lodging and we loved this hotel. Monterosso is situated such that it is divided into 2 parts. Hotel Villa Accini is located on the "quieter" side, but also the side of town with the best views, beaches, and sunsets. We stayed in room 11 as recommended on this site. The room was great because of the huge terrace with a (small) view of the water. Though to be honest, we did not spend much time on the terrace because we were busy hiking and site seeing. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff are very friendly. The ONLY downfall was that the bed was extremely firm-- though this seemed to be a common theme throughout all of our stays in Italy. If you have a car, this is the PEFECT hotel because there is parking adjacent that is free. Parking otherwise is difficult and usually a long (walking) distance from wherever you are staying in the Cinque Terre. One word of advice on driving to the town, be sure to take the route via Levante (which is the town just north of Cinque Terre ). No matter which direction you come from, it is the closest town to the autostrada. If we ever return to Cinque Terre, we would definitely stay here again. Be sure to check out the wine bar on this side of town along with the restaurant "Tortuga" located at the old WWII bunker on the cliff.
