Cinque Terre was a 3 day stop for us as part of a 12 day Italian vacation. Without a doubt, Monterosso is the best of the 5 towns for lodging and we loved this hotel. Monterosso is situated such that it is divided into 2 parts. Hotel Villa Accini is located on the "quieter" side, but also the side of town with the best views, beaches, and sunsets. We stayed in room 11 as recommended on this site. The room was great because of the huge terrace with a (small) view of the water. Though to be honest, we did not spend much time on the terrace because we were busy hiking and site seeing. The breakfast is wonderful and the staff are very friendly. The ONLY downfall was that the bed was extremely firm-- though this seemed to be a common theme throughout all of our stays in Italy. If you have a car, this is the PEFECT hotel because there is parking adjacent that is free. Parking otherwise is difficult and usually a long (walking) distance from wherever you are staying in the Cinque Terre. One word of advice on driving to the town, be sure to take the route via Levante (which is the town just north of Cinque Terre ). No matter which direction you come from, it is the closest town to the autostrada. If we ever return to Cinque Terre, we would definitely stay here again. Be sure to check out the wine bar on this side of town along with the restaurant "Tortuga" located at the old WWII bunker on the cliff.

My wife & I stayed at this hotel in August.

We found the hotel basic & clean - its 3* but for what we paid we expected a lot more (€180 p/night)

It was spacious, but for what they charged I expected a decent size TV (not a tiny 14") & all the english channels had a very very irritating clicking sound.

Also, the shower door in our room was broken & did not close. Again, for €180 p/n this should work, so we asked to move rooms.

TV was no better in the new room & shower door closed but at a stuggle.

Breakfast was nice.

Overall don't expect much for the ridiculous amount they charge!

Few places on the planet are as beautiful as Cinque Terre. We choose this hotel because it is "new town" of Monterosso- the norrthernmost town of the five in Cinque Terre. This is the only place that allows cars- which is good thing. Get out your hiking shoes and walk all the towns. Italy, in its wisdom, made Cinque Terre a national park. I have been there before but it has definitely inproved since its new found park status. Get your trail passes at the rail station. Cheap and each secton has a trail head so you can't cheat. The Villa Accini was absoluetely perfect for us. Parked the car, left it alone for 3 days, and walked, boated ir rode horses to every town. The staff at the Accini was helpful (one person in the whole palce spoke English) and, it was one of the cleanest places I have ever stayed. The rooms were large, the breakfast more than adequete (anybody that serves fresh blood orange juice every morning is one of my best friends) it was a short walk to Mikys Restaurant. Reservations were happily made for us at the front desk. I have been fortunate to travel in Italy alot and Mikys stands out as one of the best Restaurents I have ever been to in my life!! The whole Cinque Terre specilizes in mussels and anchivies. I know, I know that the very mention of the word "anchoives" turns people off. Not these- these are fresh, tender and mild. Mikys stuffed anchovies and also stuffed mussels are most noteworthy. Home run recommendation by the front desk. They also helped us with some laundry- right across the street- quick and cheap. For me, why carry all those clothes when you can travel light and once in aawhile do laundry (actually, I dont "do" laundry- someone else does it). I noticed that people at breakfast were really excited about what they did the day before and what they were doing that day. I can't remember being around so many happy hotel guests- partly sue to the incredible beauty and charm of the area but also the great service at the Villa Accini. Definitely a repeat.

Nice location, set back off the main road. Would have been O.K. but I woke up my first night (of 3 that were booked) with ants crawling on me and the bed. I was woken up by bites and that unpleasant feeling of having bugs on me a few times. Early the next morning I told the front desk person, but they were full up and couldn't move me. I wouldn't stay another night in that bed, they found me another hotel in the old part of town. They didn't offer a refund for one bad night, I don't speak any Italian to ask.

I should have been more wary after getting a late booking in high season and having trouble getting a confirmation. At any rate we arrived to catch up with our son for his 30th to be told there was a problem with the booking but we could stay in an apartment. Did we get the email they asked? No we replied as we have been travelling and they knew we thought we would be coming in by train. (There was no email when we did obtain access.) The apartment, which was in their name but not mentioned previously, was very inferior accommodation, even for the slightly lower price, and my son's accommodation at Punta Mesco was much better value for money. One room looked like it had been broken into with wires where a TV should be, lock out of safe, lights not working, no bottled gas and limited hot water. So be wary with abooking at this establishment as it seems like it could be one that attracts customers with its website but throws them into other accommodation when they are locked into staying in Monterosso.

  • Liked — The breakfast was about all we were able to partake of in the actual Villa, being stuck in the apartment the rest of the time
  • Disliked — The deceitful way we were bump into inferior accommodation associated with the Villa
