“Charming hotel in excellent location.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2013 via mobile

Charming facilities, attentive staff, great location. Avoid rm 9. Someone lives above it ( I think not even connected with the hotel) and they have a very heavy walk, and what sounds like heavy exercising at very late hours.

we stayed here 3 nights in a room with queen bed, separate small kitchen area. Breakfasts were excellent. It's run by a couple, with other family-member help, and all were very available and knowledgeable. Hard to find with a car, and you certainly don't need one in Trieste, but the location is close to everything, including the sea and some wonderful walkiing and eating. Very reasonably priced.

Room Tip: the staff will probably remind you, but you must close and lock your room's windows to keep out...

A visit to Trieste May seem a bit out of the way, but a savvy traveler will put this lovely little gem of a city high on their itinerary. Unlike the hordes of other tourists, as in Venice, in Trieste the people you see on the piazzas are locals, from young families pushing strollers to youngsters with soccer balls to elderly wander ears loving their city. Sublime coffee everywhere you go. Terrific restaurants (do NOT miss La Tavernetta, a hidden 5-seat treasure with sublime food). And best of all Hotel Albero Nascosto......perfection! The friendliest staff, Donatella instantly became a life-long friend. Mille Grazie Donatella!

Room Tip: Room 8 is lovely. A bit of street noise, but charmingly situated under the eaves, a sweet little at...

This hotel is a gem. Tucked away off a narrow street away from the main roads, but only a short walk from the many attractions, some at the top of the steep hill. The welcome we got was second to none. The manager and all the staff were friendly, cheerful, and always had a smile. They would always go out of their way to say "Bon Journo" if they even caught a glimpse of you. Breakfast was self service at a small dining area at the hotel entrance. Coffee was served by the girls who would always ask if everything was satisfactory, and quickly change things if anything was not quite right. They would also offer a range of about a dozen varieties of honey to go with your croissants, etc. The room was very well furnished and comfortable, with plenty of wardrobe space, a table and two chairs, and a softer wicker two seater. There was a shelf full of books in different languages, several in English. There was a well stocked fridge, and a bottle of wine with two glasses waiting for you on the shelf by the table. The room just made you feel welcome. There is no lift in the hotel, but the staircases were wide and presented no real difficulty, even with a heavy suitcase. When we left for the station, the manager summoned a taxi which arrived within 5 minutes of his call. Overall impression was excellent. I will recommend this hotel to all our friends.

Room Tip: Ideal for a couple on a short break. We only saw our room which was at the front of the hotel overlo...

wonderful breakfast (especially if you like jam, jelly and marmelades; all very well tasting and a great variety - especially the Orange jam from Sicily), very nice people, very nice interior
great location in the center of Triest (but no view)
we enjoyed it very much and we will choose it again

This Hotel is located in the historic city centre, but the facility inside is modern and well designed. The owners put a lot of passion and money into the building. Our room (a triple) on the first floor was spacious and provided a little seperate room with a small kitchen to sit down - It almost felt like home! The room was perfectly clean and although it was next to the street, not notably noisy (soundproof windows!). The staff was very relaxed and helpful and the breakfast was extraordinary. All in all commendable - we'd love to come back soon.

We had another lovely stay at this charming, family run boutique hotel. We won't stay anywhere else in Trieste.
We had a double and a single; even the single room was perfectly formed and well furnished.
Aldo and his sons and staff were forever helpful and in good humour. The place is full of useful nice touches.
Next door is a superb restaurant - Ego.
