When we booked here most of the reviews were very positive but what no one mentioned is if you are offered a room at the rear you face a brick wall and even the sea view rooms look at the new 'suites' block. If you can afford it stay in that otherwise your view is a wall, the car park or a building. Staff however in the Hotel were really helpful and great. The sunbathing area is nice but if the owner has his friends around it gets very crowded. Expensive and very disappointing as was supposed to be the highlight of our Italy trip.

Room Tip: Ask for the corner that overlooks the slope to the sea, you can see past the suites building.

The room was dirty. Hairs in the bed. No sea view for the sea side rooms because a new building has been erected in front of sea side rooms but the rate remains a sea side rate.
The staff of the hotel is pleasant but the restaurant staff is not pleasant at all. The parking is too small. Impossible to get a parking when arriving.

Room Tip: go 3 or 4 kms further to the center of triestre, you will find nice hotels with wonderful sea side v...

No sea view from the rooms called seaview but sold as seaview. The bed was dirty. I found hairs in the sheet. I had reserved for 5 nights but i have spent only one night and gone to another very nice hotel called Savoia excelsior with true wonderful seaview rooms for the same rate.

I had the chance to spend one night at Tre Merli Hotel on a business trip.
My accomodation was in the room just beside the reception. Room is clean, modern, confortable and well furnished.
I spent a quiet night, no noises at all.
You can have a good relaxing breakfast in front of the sea. The restaurant is excellent, especially seafood.

We stayed here for 4 nights in a sea view room. Although the room was not the largest, storage space being a little limited. Everything was of good quality, good sized bathroom and large shower and spotlessly clean. It was perfect for our short stay. Breakfast was simple and perfectly adequate for this type of property. The outside space with the loungers, parasols and jacuzzi right on the waters edge was wonderful, great for relaxing after day spent sightseeing. We had both a lunch and dinner in the resataurant, can't recommend it highly enough, the food is fabulous. All the staff at the property are very friendly and helpful.
There is easy access from the airport and the regular local busses into Trieste stop right outside the hotel.
We look forward to our next visit to the Tre Merli Beach Hotel

Room Tip: Pay a little extra for a sea view room, they are furtherst from the busy road

This small hotel is well located for walking along the water front and sitting around the fountain in the nearby park. It does not have a sandy beach front, but it does have a nice area to stand and watch the sunset in the evening and enjoy the overview of the water. Because of the current construction, the jacuzzi was not available. With a very short walk, we had easy access for catching the public bus to go into town for the evening. The hotel is small, the staff was outstanding - friendly and helpful. The restaurant on the premises was a nice "plus" and the breakfast was excellent. Rooms were very clean and though small, the modern decor was a nice break from the "traditional" hotel rooms.were nicely designed. our room had a small patio outside the door... though it faced the parking lot, it was still a nice place to sit and wait for the rest of our group and "people watch". I'd definitely go back there.

We thank our guest and we are glad that they appreciated the stay.
We are sorry the whirlpool did not work in those days because we are working to increase the services in our terrace.
We wait for your return in the summer when the services will work properly.

We stayed 3 nights at Tre Merli Beach Hotel.. this was to be the relax and unwind by the beach part of our trip only there was NO BEACH! This is a nice hotel with clean rooms, a friendly staff and right beside a nice restaurant. They have an excellent breakfast in the morning.

We took a cab to the hotel on arrival and were charged double for the ride (should have been 7 euro but we were charged the special tourist price of 14 euro... my Italian isn't good enough to argue). You can catch either the #6 or #36 bus to get you to the hotel but until you know where it is you won't know where to get off.. which is why we took a cab at first. Its a short bus ride, under 10 minutes.

Having no beach was 1 major disappointment. You can swim from a boat ramp in the back, many people were but... we had one day of very heavy rainfall and when the rain stopped we went out to the back to look at the Sea and we noticed plumes of brownish water spewing into the crystal blue sea water from about the middle and bottom of the back dock. This brown water contained pieces of what appeared to be toilet paper and was being released intermittently. We showed the woman working at the desk and she assured us the waste water was being emptied into the sea but at another location far away from the hotel and that this spillage we were seeing was not normal and needed to be looked at. Please take this info for what its worth... whether it was septic waste water from an overwhelmed system or not we could not be 100% but it definitely seemed that way. Besides, learning that the normal treatment was to release the waste water into the sea down the road left us very upset anyway and disappointed that there are still cities that use this method of disposing waste.. Shame on Trieste for this. This steered us away from swimming in the water behind the hotel but there were people swimming there who either didn't see what we saw or didn't care... I assume the 1st (they didn't see it).

I would recommend the hotel, restaurant and staff but want people to know about what we saw... which we do not condone!

Room Tip: There are only 3 rooms facing the Sea so ask if they are available if that is your preference.
