“Great quality for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 28, 2010

We stayed in Hotel Savina for 4 nights. We were on a budget holiday so we booked it due to the low price. I wasn't expecting too much so was pleasantly surprised to have a very clean, air conditioned room where the towels and sheets were changed each day. The couple who own the hotel were very friendly and helpful although didn't speak much English. The food at breakfast was as expected - fresh rolls, meat, cheese, juice, coffee and even croissants which were lovely! As the hotel is in a quiet location we had no noise at night. It is only a few minutes from the beach and you can catch a No 11 bus around the corner which takes you to the Stazione. The only thing I would say is that the en suite was the smallest I have ever seen - if you are a large person you may have difficulty in the shower!

My husband & I booked this hotel due to the fairly good reviews and it was cheap (€55 for one night). We requested a quiet room on a high floor but probably got the noisiest room in the hotel on the 1st floor at the top of the stairs. We were constantly disturbed at night with the thin walls echoing people coming back to the hotel throughout the night. The room was small with very little space around the large hard bed with only 2 pillows. The 'wet room' bathroom was just plain weird and you have to be careful with your toiletries and loo roll as everything gets wet. The hotel is well-placed for the beach but seems miles away from the centre of Rimini which is beautiful and a welcome rest-bite from the 'Blackpool' effect of the beach front. We took a taxi to the old town which cost approx €15 for the 5-10 min journey.

My husband and I had a lovely 2 night stay at Hotel Savina.

The main bus route that runs from the airport passes nearest to the hotel when it stops outside the hospital. It was however, a bit of a trek to walk there with our luggage. But this was the only negative point.

Our room was a good size with modern and quite new looking fixtures and fitting. Good sized bathroom with no bath but a very good shower and there was also a hairdryer. We had fresh towels left for us, even though we were only staying 2 nights.

Breakfast was good and plentiful with a wide selection of items, although no fresh tea/coffee was provided - you had to help yourself to the vending machine. Staff were pleasant and helpful.

I think this must be the 'bluest' hotel I have ever seen - they must have a had a job lot of the same bright blue paint - eveything outisde the hotel is painted the same from the balcony canopies, the railings and gate right down to the plant pots!! Good if you like that sort of colour!!

  • Liked — modern decor and very clean
  • Disliked — The colour of the building outside - very bright!

I have just returned from 4 nights in this hotel and can safely say that it is the best budget hotel I have ever stayed in (and there have been many across the world!).
The hotel, though basic, is exceptionally clean and well looked after. The staff went out of their way to be helpful, welcoming and friendly and so made the stay really pleasant. The location is excellent - being 5 mins walk to the beach and restaurants/shops. Breakfast is fresh, vaired and plentiful. I would definitely recommend! Considering how reasonably priced this hotel is - it's a gem!

We arrived in Rimini by Car and had a little trouble finding the hotel due to the confusing nature of the one way system. The hotel had limited car parking so in high season this might become an issue.

The hotel was located 5 mins walk away from the beach and about 20 mins from the city centre.

The staff at the desk were very helpful and let us print off pages from the internet for free. They also were very informative about the area and suggested places to visit and eat.

The room wasn't that small although the bathroom was a wetroom, which was fine for our purposes. The best part was the free wifi internet available in every room.

Had an eventful night when the fire alarm went off!

For its price and location, a great stay.

My wife and I stayed here for a long week-end recently and due to the reasonable price we were not expecting anything grand. However we were very pleasantly surprised on all aspects of this lovely little family run hotel.Over the years we have stayed in various hotels in France Spain Portugal and Italy ranging from 2 to 3star up to 5 star in Barcelona and Rome and we have to say that pound for pound this hotel is cracking value. We found the owners amongst the friendliest helpful people we have ever met ,nothing was to much trouble for them, even to the point of taking us to the shopping center in their own car.We had not booked an evening meal but after deciding to stay in the hotel for a meal on the second night of our 5 night stay we ate in the hotel every night. We therefore would have no doubts about recommending this hotel to anyone. Our only doubt would be that it is not situated in the main center but in the bustle of high season we think the quiet location would be an advantage.

  • Liked — friendliness of staff
  • Disliked — wet room style shower

Myself and my partner would thoroughly recommend Rimini and Hotel Savina as a cheap beach holiday.

The rooms were clean and basic and equipped with a tv and safe free of charge. My only criticism would be the miniscule wetroom where the shower is positioned above the toilet and you need to be very careful not to flood your whole room… although the rooms are cleaned and towels changed daily (just incase you have used them all mopping up the floor!).

The best thing about Hotel Savina is the staff, it is a small family run hotel and you really get a feel of this. The staff speak very little English and we spoke even less Italian but this did not prevent them from helping us with weather reports, train times, taxi bookings etc.

The breakfast was the typical continental style breakfast but well stocked and plentiful.

As for the resort itself we were very wary when we read reports, particularly ones describing Rimini as the “Blackpool of Italy” however we were pleasantly surprised. The beach is beautiful, providing entertainment for people of all ages… the “beachware sellers” can be annoying though. There is the typical road of tourist shops, restaurants and even a couple of amusement arcades but the fab restaurants (try Joe’s for great food and service!) and Geletarias dotted in amongst them more than make up for this... all in all well worth a trip!
