“Friendly service, good location, great value for money”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 9, 2013

A hotel with a personality. Friendly service, great breakfast. Good location on the beach. Tidy rooms individually decorated but not overly spacious - yet we fit just fine with two kids. And at a very good price, this hotel is definitely worth a visit.

Stayed for 4nights in September. Good location close to beach. Rooms very small- I had a double which was ok for 1 person but would have been cramped for 2 people- literally had to climb over the bed to get to other side of room/the fridge! Carpets a bit minging! Disappointed that no in-room kettle, although it said on the website this was provided- when I asked for one they said I just had to come to the bar 24/7 for free tea and coffee ( although they tried to charge me for a cafe latte!!) - plus this is not the same when you want a coffee in bed first thing in am!! The breakfast was very good- lots to choose from (although the scrambled egg smelt of puke- a good aged Italian cheese mixed in maybe?!) never managed to get a hot cappuccino for some reason! They do have cycles for use free of charge and supposedly wifi- I could never get any use from it despite being connected on iPhone and iPad - laptop would not connect at all! They charge 2.5€ per night for locale tax

We have just returned from La Gradisca where we had a nice short break. Hotel is quirky - with each room individually decorated on a 'Fellini' theme. Some areas a bit dated and we had a very small room (522), although others looked more spacious. Staff were efficient and friendly; free wi-fi; good and varied breakfast buffet. Ice cream heaven within 50m, beach within 200m, wide range of shops and restaurants within 400m. We would go back for a sunshine break.

+ We booked La Grandisca via Hotels.com with a great discount. after some experience with Hotels in Rimini our expectations weren't that high, but La Grandisca really is a nice hotel. It is a Fellini themed hotel with nice rooms. We had a really small one, but a nice balcony and view at the sea! The personal is friendly but sometimes only italian-speaking. The breakfast choice is huge and everybody can find his favorite things. There's a small pool as well with a lot of sun in the morning. You need too hurry to get one of the only two sun beds.

- What we did not appreciate: the Wifi connection is weak and sometimes you need more than 2à minutes to connect. Best Western could do better. The hotel told us that at their supported beach (25/26) they have towels, but that wasn't true. As well the price isn't really a bargain. The hotel sells vouchers for 15€ although the beach takes 13€. Go directly to the beach and safe the 2€ instead.

This is a modern, clean, comfortable and friendly hotel in a town built for visitors who want to lie in the Adriatic sun, buy souvenirs, and eat well. Finding the parking spaces behind the hotel is a challenge because of the one-way streets. But don't park in the expensive big lot across from the front of the hotel for more than the time it takes to get directions.

It's a welcoming place with well-fitted rooms with balconies and "interesting" frescoes on the walls of each room. It's a very comfortable pit stop, and Rimini is a short driving distance for those who want to visit San Marino as a day trip. Full buffet breakfast is available in the dining room and is very well supplied with everything you might want for your morning meal. A very pleasant place, with some views of the ocean about two blocks away. Oh, and very inexpensive for an Italian resort area.

Room Tip: Those "interesting" frescoes might be a touch offensive if your tastes run to the .... oh...

I have visited this hotel on July 2012.
Nice hotel, clean and good service. Poor breakfast.
Very good location close to the beach and to the restaurants.
The room was small with two queen size beds and an old TV. We stayed 3 nights and the AC was not working for the last two nights and it was terrible, to hot.
If you decide to visit Rimini don’t miss the delicious ice-scream next to the hotel.

whilst just visiting for a short time this hotel had everything for relaxing within the hotel. just a short distance about five minutes walk is a small store. on the seafront great view from balcony. only drawback you have to pay to go on the beach. however bike hire is available and cycling along the promenade is good. plenty of book stores. Town is very close and takes aprox. thirty minutes to walk it from hotel can get cab or bus. busy in the town centre. don`t stay in street s late at night for too long as much like other Essex towns you get hassled sometimes. visited a church and all are welcome to join in. bells in tower are rang automatically. great spa within the hotel and good food. the staff are very witty and very helpful whilst learning different languages. Car hire is advised before you visit.

Room Tip: overlooking the seafront for better room as others no view and some no balcony.
