“Well situated hotel with parking”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 19, 2012 via mobile

We stayed one night here, we were upgraded to a suite which was spacious although a little dated and quirky! The reception staff were extremely helpful, beds were wonderful, the hotel wifi was excellent and the breakfast pleasant. No hotel restaurant but opposite a charming wine bar and easy walking to the centre. Well placed for exploring the mosaics too.
Excellent hotel for a short stay.

Located on the edge of the pedestrian centre of Ravenna this is an okay Best Western hotel, clean and efficient. Pleasant garden can be found through rather souless lobby area, which has computer access - hotel has good wi-fi. Rather hard beds and even harder pillows, decent bathroom. Very good breakfast with two efficient maids. Good restaurants within 5 minutes.

We stayed in this hotel for one night to see the mosaics. We booked the room on aeroplan points. The front desk people were excellent. They got us set up with free parking and after the false start got us into the centro with the proper permit. The hotel itself is pretty dated and definiteiy not a four star. The beds are hard as rock and pillows are flatter than flat. The shower is really small and wallpaper is peeling. Be careful to open or close the blinds on the window otherwise they rattle and bang all night in the wind. The doors are a joke. The handles don't turn so you have to slam the door (sometimes more than once) to get it closed. This ensures that the whole floor knows whether you're in or not and what time you came back or left.
The breakfast is quite good. The women making the coffee and laying out the breakfast were very pleasant and incredibly efficient. The hotel is also very close to the mosaics. You can walk everywhere.
The fantastic staff save this hotel, because without them it's just a tired hotel in need of a facelift.

It's a 2 block walk from Bisanzio to the apse of Bsilica San Vitale, 2 more blocks to the entrance in the west. If you came to see Europe's most glorious mosaics, this hotel is perrfectly situated,

The elevator (ascensor) works, which is worth a star in itself. Yes, the old-world charm is lacking, but, then, no one is leaving the doors ajar on the 9th floor like with a turn-of-the century, shaky lift,

Room 203 had 2 flat-screen TVs with ample channells, bed and sitting rooms, functional AC, Bathroom had modern plumbing. Pilllows were oversized but hard.

We found the staff helpful and courteous. Colazione was better than average,

can't really find any faults with this hotel. It is in the centre of town, easy walking distance of all the main points of interests: shopping, churches, bars etc..it was spotless, spacious, free wifi: always a big bonus and not always the case with the higher end hotels!

It is a good hotel of its type, ie not particularly characterful, but in an excellent location, with parking just outside, and very helpful, friendly staff. They were effecient at the desk giving us maps etc and in the evening we enjoyed the garden and chatting to the staff whilst we watched the bats circle in the summer night. The bedroom was fine, clean and quiet. The location was great, straight out the door to elegant shops and squares of fine buildings. It's a flat city so lots of cyclists weaving between the pedestrians out shopping . The mosaics are easy to get to too and wonderful. One ticket buys you entry to several churches and main sights.

This is definitely NOT a 4 star hotel. The location is great, the room was clean and the bath was large and well appointed. On the downside, the bed was like sleeping on a brick, there was no drawer space, and the air conditioning couldn't be calibrated very well. It was either too much, or too little. The breakfast buffet was pretty limited and disappointing, especially after the bountiful spreads at the other hotels we stayed on this trip. Service was efficient, but not very friendly.
