even if the entrance may seem a little outdated, this 4 star hotel features decent size rooms, clean and quiet. Located very close to the highway, at the Parma exit, it offers complimentary private parking, wi-fi and great buffet breakfast. The only complaint is about the freezing temperature in the breakfast room.

I stayed here for a couple of nights to see my team play Zebre Rugby. The hotel is 300 yards from the stadium (I could see the stadium from my room) which was very handy. On match day Zebre used the hotel as a base so we met a couple of the players. The Hotel was nice, clean and comfortable. It was good value for money. I found the staff very friendly and helpful.
The only downsides;
1-The restaurant was closed Saturday and Sunday evening which I found quite bizarre.
2-The hotel is quite a way out of town and transport is not great in the area, if you don't have a hire car.
3-There is not much "going on" in the area in the evenings.

PROS:
The Villa Ducale Hotel is a nice and comfortable executive hotel very well located almost in the entrance of Parma, with easy access to the Milano-Firenze highway (Autostrada), and easy access to secundary highways of the region. It has relatively modern facilities and spacious bedrooms with comfortable beds (we stayed in the double room). It has a cable TV with many international channels in english (which is difficult to find in Italy), free access to the internet, free parking and a good breakfast buffet both Italian and American style (fruits, juice, yorgut, integral items, several types of breads and pastries, cake, eggs and bacon, and a coffee maker that prepares capuccino). It has also a good value for money, it was the cheapest hotel we stayed in our 22 days vacation in Italy.

CONS:
Carpet in the bedroom (be careful if you are alergic, but looked very well maintained, different from the carpet in the corridor whick looked old and dirty). Wi-fi is free but requires a voucher, so you can not use two devices at the same time (two smartphones, or a smartphone and a tablet...). Shower is small (I am thin, 1,80m and 75kg and I could barely move in the shower).

We were driving from England to Naples via all the tourist sites! This was one of our one-night stops en route to Tuscany. Some of the reviews were a bit uncomplimentary but we thought we'd take a chance as the special rate was within our budget. We were blown away. It was the best accommodation of our holiday. The room was spacious, the hotel was immaculate and the breakfast was fantastic. It was a short bus ride from the centre. The road had changed its name a fortnight before we arrived but it didn't take long to find. Very helpful staff.
