We first arrived in Bologna near dusk. Our B&B Host walked us through the streets into Piazza Maggiore & it was near 8pm on a Sunday night and there were at least 300 people about. It was amazing & I truly felt safe walking around Bologna at night. During the day it was filled with police which we thought meant a big celeb was coming or some sort of trouble. Found out they haven't anywhere big enough to keep their vans, so they park there until they are called to come out. There was some fellow attracting attention yelling at the top of his lungs & was getting quite an audience but everyone was calm & he was left to do his thing. Our waitress at the cafe we were sitting at said she thinks he wanted to start a revolution. We all laughed. It was way too calm for revolutionary fervor.
