“Nice”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 3, 2014

I'm very picky about giving out 5 star ratings. This is a very nice hotel but does not compare to some of the 5 star hotels I have stayed in. It is centrally located, very clean, with adequately sized rooms and a very friendly staff. I would definitely stay here again when I come back to Bologna.

This hotel is centrally located in Bologna very close to main street which leads to Piazza Maggiore. We booked a transferservice to this hotel from the airport and it worked out perfectly well. This hotel is quite big and beautifully decorated. It was very clean and has a high 4 star standard. The service was great and the staff were helpfull. The check in and out was very pleasent. The rooms are quite big and very clean. The beds were comfortable. The rooms have a fully computerized minibar, and nice bathroom. The breakfast was good and included in our room price. There were a variety of cerals, breads, sweets, fruits etc etc. Overall a great hotel!

I stayed here while I was attending the Children's Book Fair in Bologna. This is a very good business hotel--rooms are large and comfortable. Nice sized bathroom----hair dryer is a joke but that is not unusual for European hotels. Breakfast was included and was fine. Occasionally it took a little while to get a cab, but no more than 10 minutes. Bar was busy during the fair but service was OK. A colleague used the gym and said it was good. All in all no complaints.

As a previous reviewer said the main selling point of this hotel is its location: minutes from both the centre of the city and the train station. The rooms are very comfortable and the standard of house keeping very good but the front desk staff (particularly the older males) were singularly unhelpful and appeared to have missed the 'be smile and helpful' training course....Having been put in the wrong grade of room in error by them on our check in they only very begrudgingly rectified the mistake the following day after a long discussion. No apology was offered. Two days into our seven day stay all of our group became aware that there was no hot water and on phoning the front desk were told that they were aware of the problem but as it was the weekend there was nothing that they could do and the only option was to put up with it until Monday or change rooms again! The staff at breakfast and in the bar were charming the front desk would do well not to let them down so regularly....

Room Tip: No air conditioning until May so choose a room on top floor to ensure you can open the window

Within walking distance (20 mins) of the Piazza Maggiore in Bologna and about 10 minutes by taxi from the central train station. Located on a quiet street. Good breakfast. Visited in early March and the hotel was not crowded.

Very comfortable and efficient hotel near the center of Bologna.

The architecture is a little dull considering the amazing buildings nearby but you get comfort, cleanliness and easy access to the center of the city.

The food in the restaurants was dull so it is better to eat out.

Didn't have time to try the SPA but is seems to be good from the brochures.

No doubt about it the rooms are great. We stayed four nights in a junior suite and luxed it.
Only major problem was rampant heating system which was unresponsive to dial change. If we couldn't have opened the balcony door, we would have poached at night.
The soft carpeting throughout hotel lobby and big armchairs is great old world.
Breakfast was very solid effort, the benchmark being the offer of fresh cooked eggs. Coffee was a disservice from a machine. Is this Italy?
Hotel location is no burden, being 5 min walk to main square and boutiques. But a taxi necessary to take bags to nearby stazione.
Front desk is efficient &courteous but doesn't engage.
The wifi charge inflicts self damage to the luxury hotel brand, but that' s someone's policy up the chain and one day they'll regret it.
Having now looked at the peer group , I would return here.

Room Tip: Spend the extra for a suite. It's worth it.
