“classy hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 16, 2010

It seemed like "good olde times" - staff which put the customer first and stay friendly even if they are busy. Location opposite railway station was ideal for us. Noise is usually a drawback of a central location, but rooms facing the garden are quiet enough. The garden is unique in a location like this; very relaxing after a day of travelling. Long may it last!
The only hangups: Part of the lovely garden is spoiled by the noise of some air conditioning or refrigeration fans. And the internal layout of the hotel is slightly confusing; not helped by several mirrors.

The hotel is located in front of the station - and it quite noisy. Some rooms were renovated in 2009 and got the Mercure standard. The other ones are poor - you better wear your house shoes. The rooms are very small, so that the small TV fits in.
The service at the reception is typical Italian (slow & ignorant), the breakfast also (bad coffee, brioche, that' it). You better try another one.

Stay there from 18 till 20/08/2010.
Book a double room + baby cot through mercure website. Got an excellent price at 65 Euro for BB plan. Got room 605 (garden view) if remember well.
Upon our delayed arrival, the baby cot was already set up and it made our life much easier. We also received a small present for the kid.
Excellent buffet breakfast on the terrasse ovelooking the nice garden.
Friendly staff, prime location all for a cheap 65 Euros.

Right across the street from the train station, quiet and not a usual train station hotel in a questionable area. Very nice neighborhood right in the city, around the corner from the main street and shopping/monuments. This hotel is a perfect hotel to stay for 2-3 nights to tour Bolgna. Beautiful gardens surround the back of the hotel and rooms overlook, so it is quiet and serene to relax or sleep. The hotel decor is very nice as are the rooms, just a bit small, but good amentities and the shower is way too tiny, but my only complaint. The staff are excellent, most helpful, and can guide you easily to good restaurant choices and sightseeing.

Lovely hotel a about 10 mins walk to the centre. Hotel staff great and helpful, breakfast good, room very nice. However we followed the signs to what we thought was the hotel car park, and parked in the 'Aby underground carpark' which is linked to the hotel and has a doorway leading into the hotel; it is a completely independent business. For a two night stay the charge was €38 - very overpriced so please try to find somewhere else to park nearby.
