“Unforgettable Experience - Amazing Day - Not to be missed”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 23, 2013

Everything people have said about Alessandro and the Italian Days Food Experience is true.

We loved every minute and the early start was absolutely worth it.

We were delivered back to to our hotel later in the afternoon, happily laden with delicious samples purchased, full of delicious authentic Italian food and copious glasses of wine!

The whole day is brilliantly organised and so much fun. We were lucky to be just by ourselves as a party of 2 on that day which made it feel even more special.

Highly recommended - Very Many Thanks Alessandro and the Team!

“Wonderful!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013

Absolutely wonderful! Allessandro is extremely knowledgable and unbelievably entertaining! Getting an early start is essential in order to observe the process involved with making the "king of cheeses" Parmigiano Reggiano, which I must say is extremely impressive as well as tasty. You then visit producers of authentic balsamic vinegar, which is a gem to view, and even more precious to learn the tradition behind this extraordinary product. You will also taste various stages of the aged product, along with a jelly that is fairly new to production. Next, you visit a prosciutto facility, which is quite remarkable. You then end the excursion with a visit to an old farm house that serves you the largest, most delicious, meal you may have in Bologna. Know that you will be given samples at each location and the opportunity to buy the products. Also, you leave with a very full belly and a new found respect for these products and the Italian culture! Thanks Allesandro, for such a lovey day!

“You won't regret it~ GO!!!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 5, 2013

We did the Italian Days Food Experience in mid January. We were a family of 4 so it was not an inexpensive excursion....it was however, the BEST excursion/day we had on our 10 day visit through Italy! Alessandro is one of a kind. He puts so much of his heart into this great day. You will learn very interesting facts and really taste all the greatest food this region is famous for. It is worth the early morning wake up call to see how the cheese is produced from start to finish. The traditional balsalmic vinegar tour was wonderful....I regret to this day, not purchasing a bottle! Lunch was amazing and very authentic! If you have the chance to go on this tour, please do. I know you won't regret it!

“Excellent tour even for know-it-all foodies!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 4, 2013

Alessandro is a gem and our group was great fun. We highly recommend this almost full day. Our pickup was before 7:00 am and I think we were returned to our hotel at 4:00 -- after a very good lunch, following three great tours. Highly recommended!

“The highlight of our trip”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 19, 2013

We read about the tour on Trip Advisor and despite an early start we decided to give it a go! I am so glad we did because it was by far the highlight of the trip. If you like food then you will love this tour. The parmigiano factory was fascinating as was learning about the traditions of making real balsamic vinegar. After all that learning then we spent a lovely lunch sipping pignoletto wine (fabulous stuff!) surrounded by beautiful scenery and good company. Alessandro is such a brilliant guide, he's witty, interesting and he will keep you entertained. Don't over-think it, go on this trip! It's something I will always remember from our time in Bologna.
