“Well worth clogging your arteries for!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 12, 2013 via mobile

Incomparable hams, cheeses, sausage, wonderful bread too, eaten outside watching the world go by. This is deservedly a much loved Bolognese institution that must be visited.
Your arteries won't thank you but that's what statins are for.....

“Lunch in 'Fat City': fast, delectable, cheap”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 19, 2013

If you're not buying any of the fabulous tortellini, mortadella or cheeses at this venerable deli, go for lunch at the back. But get there quickly. It's jam-packed at noon for two reasons: fantastic 'hot-table' fare and knockdown prices. We had pasta e fagioli (the Bolognese twist to this simple dish of pasta and legumes is to make it as rich as possible), superlative roast chicken and tagliatelli with a fine, meaty ragu. Note that soups and pasta are sometimes served lukewarm, but that there's a microwave towards the back for customers' use.

An excellent pitstop while strolling through this extraordinary town of endless, elegant porticoes and gustatory delights.

“Very good, expensive”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 18, 2013

Tamburini is not a shop. It is a boutique, where you can see tons of cheeses and salami and hams everywhere, of every kind.
It is the wonderland of Bolognese (and Italian) food.
It is a fantastic experience for eyes (and cameras).
They know it. This is the reason why their prices are usually higher, for the same products, than everywhere else.
Everytime I am in that area of the Bologna, I admire their shop windows.
They also have a buffet-restaurant, with long queues - I think it's not worth it.

“Go takeaway...first and then enjoy.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

Very good and comparatively well priced.
For your first experience take away your selection so you can savour at your own pace.
Then go for the 'dining' experience and treat it as such - very Italian attitude and process. Worth just avoiding at busy times.

“Golden mortadella in the heart of bologna”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 18, 2012 via mobile

The quality of the food is excellent, but to find a place where to seat a nightmare, and they do not do their best to welcome the customers. It is a fact, they are so famous even without being extremely gentle ... The tortellini cost a fortune , but a worthy fortune..
