“Nice and Comfortable, but a little cramped for a family”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2013

Urbino is a lovely little town, and this hotel is close to everything. The views from the window were outstanding and the bathroom was large and updated for Italy. However the beds are small and the solution to multiple guests is to add extra beds in a small room that takes up all the space. The breakfast buffet was poor. The air conditioner was not powerful ebough for the summer heat-but this is prevalent in most european hotels.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a view of the hillside-outstanding!

A very good hotel, beautifully located in this splendid and very interesting city. A great staff at the reception: nice and efficient, rooms are large and very comfortable with pleasant furniture, with fast and efficient internet connection, breakfast of good quality. A very good place to Urbino. Only gripe: the parking are not "so" close, even if they are accessible… (the nearest one is on “Borgo Mercatale” but by stormy weather the lift doesn’t work!!!... and there is a lot to climb!)

We (a party of family and friends) recently spent a number of days in Albergo Italia in Urbino - a visit to a marvellous Renaissance city, enhanced by our stay in the Albergo Italia which I can recommend for all the reasons that other satisfied clients have outlined. It is efficiently run - we asked that air con be turned off in one of the rooms, and this was done immediately at Reception computer. Rooms are very comfortable and spacious (in comparison to most European hotels in this sort of category). Staff are friendly and organised. The location is excellent - but do not rely on GPS which, in our case, did not recognise that the road it directed us to was one way and provided no access. Cars have to be left outside the city walls. It might be worth the effort to contact hotel staff before departure for specific directions. They will explain the route, and also about parking outside the city walls, and need for a temporary parking disk while you unload luggage.

Room Tip: If you are sensitive to noise at night, ask for a room that does not overlook the main entrance - op...

Marvelous location, right in the heart of town. Lovely, helpful staff. Clean, comfortable rooms with good AC; nothing fancy but just fine. Good breakfast. All in all a great deal. We will stay there again, I hope.

Room Tip: Beautiful view of the countryside if you get a room facing the back of the hotel. Church bells are p...

Our Italian friends had stayed here before. We arrived by car; there is a parking lot below, and if you tell the tourist office people you are staying in the Albergo Italia, you do not have to pay for the elevator to go up to the hotel level. The rooms were comfortable and well sound-proofed and the air-conditioning worked well. The breakfast room overlooks the fort or castle on the hill.

Hotel Albergo is in the center of Urbino near the Piazzo. It has a wonderful friendly staff who speaks English well. As most hotels in Italy, it is located on a no through traffic zone, so make sure to give the front desk your license plate number, so you don't get a dreaded Italian parking ticket.

The rooms are comfortable and spacious. Wi-Fi is extra at 1 Euro per day per device. If you have two devices and will not be using the Wi-Fi at the same time, you are golden.

Parking is extra but there are spaces in the city for free which we did.

Plenty of restaurants around the hotel. The room was adequate and clean. Bathroom was spotless.

Breakfast was included on an outdoor veranda. Coffee, Danish, yogurt, fruit, and tea. I would return in a New York second! Thank you to Madeline and her staff for a job well done.

I had preferred to stay at a different hotel, but that one was a bit pricey and the rates at Albergo Italia were more moderate. For our one night there, it was a very satisfactory choice. The front desk staff was helpful in every respect. And as everyone else has noted, the location cannot be beat. It was no problem negotiating the parking lot and the lift from the parking lot to Urbino left us down the block from the hotel, a short, convenient walk. The rooms were comfortable and adequately furnished, rather generic but functional. I enjoyed the fact that the bathroom was equipped with a real bathtub (welcome after all those tiny showers in many of our other hotels during our trip!).
