This Hotel has some plusses. The front desk personnel are efficient, and the hotel is pretty good. We were given a VERY large room, but due to a fault we were quickly relocated to a room nearby. It was tiny, and I mean TINY! The cupboard hardly fitted our things for just two overnight stays. No room at all for moving about: Every time I went to bed/the toilet I banged my right thigh against the very sharp corner of the desk, with the result of coming away with a big nasty-looking bruise. The bathroom was similarly small, with a silly sink. We asked for a top up of toiletries (the supply amounted to one hotel-size cake of soap, meant to do the two of us for two overnight stays), and the smiling staff kindly ignored us. The mosquito we killed in the sink kept us company for a day and a half. The hotel is located very handily near the Marconi underground stop. It overlooks a busy road, and you can tell it is getting wake-up time by the noise of the cars, despite the thick windows. The road is dark at night, and as we were walking back to the hotel at 10 p.m after we had had our dinner nearby we spotted two prostitutes changing into their working clothes just behind a wheelie bin on the main road, a mere 50 mt. away from the hotel entrance.
Breakfast was ok, but prefab. The breakfast staff were efficient and helpful. I had two lovely lattes.
I believe that the original room we were given would have turned out into a better review. As it stands, a medicre choice (despite the plasma screen and fancy design furniture - I kept banging against...) in a mediocre location in Rome.
