We stayed at the Pulitzer from for 7 nights from 12th to 19th October as it as my birthday during the week. We chose the hotel as it had not been opened long and it had received good reviews. We were not disappointed.
We travelled by metro from Termini to Marconi - 7 stops. After exiting the station, take the road to the left and the Pulitzer is about 200 metres on the left. For us the location was perfect. It wasn't in the centre of the city but it was quieter for this and we do not consider that the area is creepy - it was quiet and safe as far as we were concerned (but you always have to be careful in any city).
The hotel has a bar/lounge on the ground floor and as we arrived before check in time, we waited there and had a coffee whilst our room was being prepared. The surroundings are bright, modern and minimalist with white leather sofas.
Our room was on the 4th floor and it had windows on two sides and a balcony with a view to the pleasant residential area at the back of the hotel. The double bed was huge but the matress was firmer than I like as I have a bad back and it sat on a wooden slatted base. I softened it by placing two thin duvets from the wardrobe under the bottom sheet - perfect. The room had air con, an LCD TV and a mini bar.
The bathroom was compact with a shower over the bath but it was spotlessly clean and modern with plenty of hot water and had good water pressure from the shower. Fresh towels were provided every day. A hairdrier was available plus dressing gowns and slippers.
There was plenty of variety at the breakfast buffet. The diningroom seats around 60 guests and the chairs are white leather to match the rest of the furnishings.
All of the staff at the Pulitzer were great - very helpful whenever we needed anything. This included opening a bottle of wine for us one evening when we had managed to lose our corkscrew. They also made my birthday special.
We would have no hesitation going back to the Pulitzer when we next visit Rome. My advice to others would be to book directly with the hotel as you will pay a lower rate than booking through a booking agent.
