This is a tough call because the hotel itself is nice, modern, new, decorated very well, all the things I love. However, you are far off the beaten path to go to Rome and the surroundings of the hotel are not the greatest. The walk back to the hotel from the Metro station at night is creepy as it is completely dark and the housing area nearby does not inspire confidence. We were two guys walking back and feeling uneasy, I can only imagine what a woman might have felt like. Actually, I might just advise a woman on her own not to stay at this hotel, I just would say it is not worth it for that reason alone. Once you are at the hotel, it is a very good experience. The rooms are nice, well designed and we even had a large balcony which was nice. There was also a gym which we used every day and appreciated. Breakfast was quite good too. If you find yourself there at dinner time, the hotel restaurant was a ghost town, probably as a result of the prices, but there is a great little neighborhood place nearby, Il Pepperocino or something like that. Again, the walk to get there was a little dodgy, but once you got there is was great, just locals and very fun and full of energy with good food.
The staff, especially Laura, was very nice to us and she even let me use her laptop in the back for a minute or two to print something out, which was nice. It would be better for the hotel to have a computer for guests however. I'm very surprised that a hotel of this caliber does not. All in all, if you are a good traveler and can handle yourself well and don't mind making a trek to a hotel to get a good deal, I would recommend the Pulitzer.
