“Great dinner, reasonable prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 22, 2012

We stumbled upon Teo's while strolling in Trastevere; we had heard of it through a friend's recommendation but didn't plan on seeking it out. I'm glad we found it, as the dinner was excellent and the service very hospitable. After starting with some of the mixed fritti (artichokes and fiori di zucca), we each had a pasta: Cacio e pepe for my husband, and fettuccine with porcini for me. The portions are very generous--ridiculous, really, considering they are called "primi"--and the quality was excellent. Great red by the glass, and a lovely ricotta and chocolate torte to finish, with coffee. The meal was very reasonably priced. If you're in the neighborhood, this place is worth a visit!

“Very Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 20, 2012

We (a family of four) went in for lunch on a Saturday. We were seated promptly (inside as you needed a reservation to sit outside - seems like a reasonable policy). The kids shared a pasta dish, for which we incurred a shared plate care. That's not unusual but I wish it had been marked somewhere on the menu. My soup was ok but fairly salty. I've had much better here in Rome. My husband ordered pasta and, from our looking around, we think his portion was much, much smaller than those at neighboring tables of the same dish. Overall, our food was all OK. The worst part was waiting for the check. I get that there are not a lot of wait staff but when our waiter rushed by us and told me no fewer than six times that he'd be right back with the check, I became extremely frustrated when no check appeared. After about 25 minutes, kids and dad went outside and I was eventually given the check maybe 10 minutes later. My bottom line: give your money to a place that actually wants to make you happy.

“Still nice but not as good as it used to be!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

We used to plan our trips to Rome around a trip to this trattoria. Management and menu appears to have changed as have many of their policies. While still good, it is no longer a must stop for us. They only take reservations for the first dinner seating and after that it is stand in line outside and hope they remember you. The food was still quite good, but again, not as good as before. It now caters to more tourists where before we were usually the only tourists in this restaurant.

“not so good as recommended”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

We were recommended this nice restaurant by some Italian friends, however seems like indeed as somebody else was mentioning, Italians get a more favorable treatment than foreigners. we had the same impression. Had to ask for stuff, that to italians was given automatically (like the bread, and olive oil). Service was also clearly different in speed and amability. Food is OK, buthad better while in Rome. Sitting on the terace with chairs and tables on coblestones, was rather inconfortable by the end.

“A restaurant where tourists are not welcomed !”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed October 29, 2012

Very bad place : we arrived at 2:15 pm. People were eating, only Italian people. Waiters ask us (we were only 2 girls) to wait for being sit. We wait for 15 minutes, stand up, and nobody talk to us, we were totally ignored. After, the boss come.
She looks at us with a bad way and tells us they are "full" : we see 2 free table outside !!! We ask for them, not possible.
We decided to go to eat in the restaurant just in front of this bad one, in a very good and nice place. And from there, we can see other people coming after us, waiting for only 5 minutes and having a table !
Very bad place, not nice staff, and tourists seem not to be welcomed at all ! Run away and go to the other restaurant just in front, they are very very good (ivascellari)
