“I'm only commenting on the view!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 10, 2012

Visited the terrace bar to see the view which is recommended in so many guidebooks, so I can't comment on the hotel at all, except to say that the foyer looked very opulent and the door staff were very efficient!
Sadly the view experience was underwhelming. Granted it wasn't very clear, but, although you can see a lot of the rooftops of Rome, St Peters is obscured by the church at the top of the Spanish Steps and you can't see the wedding cake or Piazza del Popolo.
Add to that a cup of coffee at €9 and a cup of tea at €9 it was an expensive and disappointing experience! Better views from the top of the wedding cake!!!

“Cocktails in the Bar - Best views in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2012

Our party had a special treat of cocktails at the Eden Hotel and enjoyed the panoramic views over night time Rome from the top floor bar. The atmosphere is grand; with a piano and singer adding to the ambience / annoying you, according to taste. Cocktails are expensive, but that is to be expected (about 15 euros each).

Staff were excellent and gave us lots of interesting canapes too.

We didn't eat, but the restaurant looked like a real go-to fine dining experience.

The concierge was very helpful too; recommending other bars and night-life for us to try and then booking taxis.

The hotel is up a hill - beware for ladies in heels!

“A perfect special night out”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

This is justifiably one of the top restaurants in Rome. We did the tasting menu, which offered an excellent value with a lot of food. The stand out dish was the smoked lobster as our first course.

We were told that they request jacket-and-tie and obliged, but there were a lot of people in very casual dress. Why can't people dress appropriately for dinner?

Service was excellent, but we didn't see the view we were hoping for. Perhaps we were there after sunset?

We recommend the tasting menu, and asking for a table by the windows.

“Great view, terrific bar”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 13, 2012

I only had drinks at the bar. The view is breathtaking. The martinis were wonderful... Stefano was the bartender, he was such a great guy, warm, smart, so enjoyable. The drinks come with a surprising array of bar snacks, which were very good. I have no idea what the food is like at the restaurant but this is a perfect place for a cocktail.

“Only for a special occasion”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

Very nice food and wonderful service with a view to match. At about Eur300 for 2 people including pre-dinner drink and half a bottle of wine but no dessert, an expensive night out. The little extras - the canapes, the pre-starters, the bread and breadsticks the petit fours - pad the meal out nicely so you don't leave hungry. The pink champagne risotto with beetroot and duck was superb. Since I got the menu with the prices, my wife was unaware of the cost - I guess they assumed I was paying. Probably just as well.
