“Disappointing”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 26, 2013

We made it a point to get to this restaurant only to be disappointed by the food, the service and the attitude. We are accustomed to Kosher Italian food so the menu was not surprising but the taste left us wanting something more or maybe something else. We waited almost 30 minutes for our check to arrive (mid-afternoon on a weekday in the low season). Then we discovered that we were both billed for "bread". When I explained to the waiter that we didn't ask for the bread, I was told they charged each person for bread in lieu of charging a tip. On top of that, I watched the wait staff re-use the bread taken from baskets of other tables.

It gets two stars because it was clean but also because food was nothing to write home about and practices are deceptive.

“Great food in Rome”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 25, 2013

We've been in Rome for nearly two weeks and have tried several restaurants. The food served at this one was head and shoulders above the rest. It was also excellent value for money. The whole place is immaculate with very friendly staff. We'll definitely be back !

“Very good traditional Jewish/Italian food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 19, 2013

Everything we ordered was perfectly prepared, and the street view was great. The food was quite interesting and we really enjoyed this place, though it is certainly not cheap...

“WE THINK IT'S THE BEST KOSHER RESTAURANT IN THE GHETTO”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2013

We cannot fail to visit this restaurant, at least for lunch, when in Rome even for 2-3 days. The main attraction on the menu for us are the "Carciofi alla Giudia" (Jewish style artichokes) "Baccala Filletti" (fried Cod Filets). We always order two servings of these as they are the best we've had in Rome & not too many restaurants in US have these on the menu. My wife is Jewish and I am of Italian decent and have ordered pasta here, delicious, but be warned, as it is a Kosher restaurant...NO CHEESE !!! Fortunately, too, one can get a decent red or white wine, not the cherry soda Mogen David type.

Wait staff speaks English and friendly and the owner, Leonaro. an older fellow like myself was extremely personably & appreciated that we said we prefer his restaurant to all the others in the Ghetto.

Try it, You'll Like it !!!

“Delicious entrees”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 28, 2013

Being a solo traveller is often a disadvantage when wanting to try as much as possible …when here I ordered 3 starters and am glad I did.
All were delicious from the artichokes to the cod…and artichoke flowers being in season were also happily consumed.
Average wines but hey ...
