I had a lot of trouble trying to decide on a hotel in Rome, we only needed a room for a night enroute to the Amalfi coast. I am so glad that we booked the Relais 71. Giovanni was extremely helpful, he organised an airport transfer for us on arrival, he arranged a table at a restaurant we had picked and gave us directions to the bus station for first thing in the morning and generally helping to make the most out of our brief time in Rome. We arrived at 10.30 am and were expecting just to drop our luggage off, but instead were made comfortable and given coffee while our room was made ready. The room wasn’t huge, but was immaculately clean as was the bathroom with a very comfortable bed and lots of little touches that you would normally expect in a more expensive hotel such as slippers, an amenities kit with aloe vera shampoo etc. There was a fridge with complimentary water also. We left at 5.30 am so didn’t have breakfast. The location was fantastic, the room looked out over the square giving exactly the view that everyone dreams of when planning a trip to Rome of old shuttered buildings and rather than paying for an expensive coffee to soak up the atmosphere at Piazza Navona, you looked out of your window with a coffee from the complimentary machine and watched the world go by. Unbeatable.

We stayed at Relais Navona 71 for two nights. Our visit to Rome was short but great memories because of our view on Piazza Navona. The beautiful tall windows and drapery that overlooked the piazza were really awesome. We were upgraded to a larger room since the one we requested was not available. Nice treat. on our last stop in Italy:) Giovanni was helpful with information when we registered and gave us contact information in case we needed it since the room is more like an apartment than a hotel. We walked easily to St. Peter's and the Pantheon was also nearby. The breakfast was nothing special but the waiter was very kind and attentive.

Incredible find in the heart of Rome. Entering the building right off of Piazza Navona makes you feel like your living there and the views from the window are fantastic. My fiancée and I traveled with our two recently widowed mothers who are both in their mid 60's who loved it. Giovanni was a wonderful help even rushing over to let us back in after I had locked us out of our room. Being a big guy I found all of the showers in the different places we stayed were really tight but this one was the tightest of the bunch though our mothers seemed to have a little more room. Other than that the rooms were beautiful and roomy.

The espresso machine was a life saver as we took several very early day trips and it helped getting my caffeine fix whenever I needed it. Will definitely recommend to anyone visiting Rome for the first time as you are only minutes from the Vatican, Trevi, Pantheon, shopping, 10 minutes to the Spanish Steps and of course the best Piazza in Italy is right out your window.

Outstanding B&B. The best location in the most beautiful square in Rome. Impeccable service. Thank you Giovanni for being there for us with answers for everything we needed, including excellent tips for transports and restaurants. Perfect room, very clean, comfortable and quiet, with safe and mini-bar with fresh water free of charge. Nice details such as free coffee and tea always available in the common area.

Some things that didn't bother us that much but can be improved: old main entrance, small cabin shower and simple breakfast.

All in all, it was the perfect choice for our 5 day trip to Rome.
