We spent 4 nights in this truly wonderful establishment. It is not a hotel, it's not a B&B - it is unique.

Imagine the feeling of living in the very center of the historical centre of this ancient city. My partner commented that the fact that you have your own key to an anonymous door made you feel like a resident in Rome. There is absolutely nothing fancy about the entrence and the stairs up to the first floor, which just adds to the great feeling of almost living there. Once you enter the large appartment it is completely different.

6 stylish renovated rooms with everything you expect in a high class hotel: Comfortable big bed, stylish bathroom, safe, flatscreen TV with satelite channels, internet connection and a small refrigerator with complimentary water. Then add 4+ metres to the celing and an interior designer with a good taste. It is really what you see on the website.

We had a larger room towards the piazza which is definately worth the money. If you open the window you can hear the buzzling from the piazza. However, it is still well insulated so it is quiet at night and you sleep like a baby in the bed. We hardly heard any of the other guests staying at the same time.

At any time you can go to the common room and make your own nespresso or tea. You will also find many brochures on art events etc for you to make use of.

Staff - excellent! Giovanni made you feel at home the minute you walked in.

As if that was not enough, the location is perfect for a holiday in Rome. Everything is litterally within walking distance whether it is the Vatikan, Trastevere, The Spanish steps, hanging out at cafees or hardcore shopping.

Breakfast is never a big thing in Italy, but still it is good. The staff at the cafe Dolce Vita is great and after a few days they know you.

If we are every in Rome again, we will definately stay here and I will recommend it to all couples in town for some days. You will love it.

In Feb, 5 of us travelled to the beautiful city of Rome for a long weekend, having booked 3 rooms at the Relais Navona 71. We booked a suite, which overlooked the stunning Piazza Navona and two double rooms. As mentioned on previous reviews, don't let the entrance put you off. Once you open the large brown door, you enter a shabby enough courtyard but the rooms are located on the first floor.

Only one word can describe what we all felt about the rooms - Stunning. The rooms are so spacious, clean and inviting. We made great use of the common area to discuss our plans for the day or have a coffee before heading off to explore. The bed was very comfortable and there was no noise to be heard from the bustling Piazza outside.

The staff that we met at the Relais Navona were extremely helpful. They helped us find our barings and explained everything from the coffee machine to the air conditioning to us. Very, very helpful. Then on the final day, they stored our bags for us while we explored Rome further as we were getting a late flight home.

The location is second to none with the Vatican about a 15 - 20 minute walk away, the Trevi fountain about 5 - 7 minutes and the rest of the major sightes only a walk away.

A gem of a find that we have recommended to everyone we spoke to and will continue to do so. We thoroughly recommend the Relais Navona 71 for all of your needs, and the green apple juice from the Cafe downstairs - which also served breakfast, is sublime! We will be back!

Small hotel, only 6 rooms, on Piazza Navona. Very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast (included) is at the cafe next door and consists of juice, coffee or capuccino, croissant and sliced bread with butter and jam. We were given keys to the door on the Piazza, the interior gated door, and a plastic key card which opened both the hotel's front door and our room. Espresso machine in the common area. Rooms were immaculate and exactly as pictured on the website. No elevator, but staff helped bring our luggage upstairs upon arrival. Staff also took care of train tickets for us, first trying to book on-line, and when that didn't work, going to a nearby travel agent to purchase tickets. We couldn't have asked for better service.

My boyfriend and I stayed at Navona71 for five days. The location is simply superb, our bedroom window looked out over the Piazza Navona. Our room was bright and clean. Breakfast is in the cafe downstairs, we sat outside drinking coffee and watching the world go by. We were able to walk to all the major sites and there are some fanastic restaurants in walking distance too (La Armando by the Pantheon is an authentic Roman restaurant - lovely food and friendly staff). I would definitely recommend Navona71.

Imagine throwing open your shutters in the morning and watching the Piazza Navona wake up! The location and view is worth every penny. We had the large suite and it was modern and clean. Excellent bathroom.

Don't let the entrance scare you off. You come in a heavy wooden door behind the patio restaurant, through another locked iron gate, up 2 flights of stairs in a dank concrete stairwell, and finally into the suites. Once there though, it is simply lovely. Our finest accomodations in Italy.

The heavy double pane windows block out almost all of the noise from the piazza when it's time to sleep. The common kitchen area provides coffee that you can take back to your room, and a meeting area for planning your day (we travelled with another couple).

Breakfast in the Dolce Vita below was adequate for our needs (excellent cappiccino), although they don't get going until later than we would have liked. We had early morning tours booked and had to rush through breakfast.

We will definitely go back to the Navona 71 if we're ever lucky enough to find ourselves back in Rome.
