Hello. I want to notify a serious situation we had in a hostel at Rome, Italy. The hostel name is Ivanhoe. Well, when we arrived it was a big shock, we saw a corridor with some doors and some tables, wires all over the place, a dirty shower for thousend people: THAT was the hostel. Fortunately they sent us to another location because they were full... The other place wasnt so bad but the main thing is that when we arrived there our last day, we found 3 new girls who where staying in our room and all our things (clothes, bags, presents, etc) inside the cupboard totally messed up, throwed inside without any care. Someone made a BIG mistake there. That was unacceptable. We went to Ivanhoe hostel to complain, not for the three girls but for someonw who treated our things like that and to know what happened and they just said: sorry... that is a really prepared stuff with a future vision for the company...
Well, after that, we talked with more people and we noticed that it was a normal thing that happened many times to other people coming from other hostels of the same owner; these ones: Ivanhoe hostel, Ciao Roma, Asteriks and Backpackers. I am sure that the owners have more hostels but we dont kwow them yet, we are on it.
So, the only thing that we can do is to inform as much people as possible to avoid booking that hostels, and, of course, the websites that are advertising them with unfair rating 'cause I've never saw such a bad organization, incompetence and bad service, in addition of the unfair price.
My advice is: dont look up the rating when you want to book a hostel in rome, just look up the comments because if you dont you dont you will have problems for sure.
