Right from the initial exchange of emails to paying the final bill the whole stay at Suites Rome was just perfect.
They say location is everything and this was just perfect. The street outside whilst bustling with shops, cafes and restaurants was not noticable from our room. The room we stayed in was the Romulea and it was perfect for 2 adults and a teenage daughter. The split level worked well and gave an air of space during our stay. The air con I can see being a real benefit in summer, although it was in the 70's when we were there!
I have mentioned the location and this was great for all the sights, breakfast and evening meals.
We loved Rome and I think Suites Rome made it as a great base for the 4 days!

We stayed at the Dragontea Suite that is very spacious and clean.
The Suites Rome location is unsurpassable, just a few steps to the Piazza Spagna and the rates are very suitable, as well.

I'd stayed in the Asphodelia Suite (the smaller double room w/ yellow color scheme) for 2 nights recently and enjoyed my stay there. The room is of decent size with a queen size bed. Its bathroom is in a bit of odd shape (somewhat triangular) and has a tight shower stall. Oddly, it provides guest bathrobe and slippers, but very limited toiletry supply (e.g. only has tubes of shower gel, but no shower cap, shampoo, soap bar, etc.)
This room overlooks the tiny "courtyard", which is not a pleasant view and better left hidden behind the window shades. The good part is that it is much more quiet than facing the street.
It is not exactly a B&B, as breakfast is not included. You are pretty much left on your own with a set of keys to get in the building and unit, which was fine by me. They provide internet access, but only useful if you have your own computer.
Considering its great location on one of the pedestrian streets in the Spanish Steps area, I find this place a good choice with reasonable rates, and would recommend it for independent travelers.
