My husband & I stayed here for 3 nights and enjoyed our entire stay! The rooms are fairly good size, clean and have a nice balcony with table. Breakfast is brought to the room every morning. The staff was extremely helpful and nice. The B&B is located in a very nice area of the city (the best area from what we could see), near Via Veneto, where we felt very safe! We would definitely stay here again & would recommend it to our friends & family.

We booked the Alex Inn through Venere.com. The Alex Inn is situated just off Via Veneto, easily accessible by metro (Barberini stop) and bus. The metro is 5 mins walk, making the Alex Inn a good base and everywhere else in Rome very accessible. The Inn is small and is essentially an apartment on the 5th floor (lift available) with ? 5 rooms and a small reception area manned during the day (staff are contactable by mobile 24 hours). Staff are very friendly and helpful at the same time as being unintrusive. We stayed in room no 2. The room was air conditioned, large, modern, very clean and comfortable. There is an additional area in the room with a table and 2 chairs. Mini bar and safe provided. The bathroom was clean, modern and had a great shower. Hair dryer provided. Rooms are cleaned and towels are changed daily. The private balcony / terrace is rare for Rome tourist accommodation and is great for sitting out on for breakfast or relaxing in the evening with drinks. Breakfast is good, with a menu / selection sheet provided the evening before allowing you to select what you want and what time you want it delivered to your room. After reading other reviews we were slightly apprehensive regarding the street that the Alex Inn is on. Although it is true that there are some lap dancing clubs situated on the same street, these seemed to be very quiet, with only the smart entrances visible. The street itself was charming and felt very safe during the day and in the evening. Would definitely recommend if you want a quiet, more private accommodation option.

My partner and I visited Rome as a last minute break and found this hidden gem from Trip Advisor as all reviews seemed v positive. The Alex Inn is like a residence and we wernt sure what to expect on arrival as looks like you are walking into someones apartment when you first get there. However the rooms are brand new - gorgeous bathrooms, big flat screen and best of all a private balcony covered in Jasmin - smelled lovely in evening and table and chairs avalable for you to enjoy your breakfast (which you choose from a list each day - cotinetntal breakfast but very nice! You can also choose what time you wish breakfast to be delivered to your room - service A1).
Apt is located right off Via Veneto - Cafe de Paris and Marriott hotels literally 2 min away. Trevi Fountain apx 8 min walk and Pantheon apx 15 min. Couldnt recommend this place enough! If I was to give any sort of negative about the place then would have to say that Via Emilia is also home to a few lap dancing places - but to be honest it was really quiet and road not seedy whatsoever. This place is a real find for anyone looking to be centrally based in Rome - couldnt fault. Friendly staff and apt also houses a mini bar which is cheaper than what you would pay in any of the Roman bars and you have luxury of drinking outside on your own private terrace! Spot on.

This is a lovely B&B! I stayed there with my husband last week. We booked a Terravision bus from the airport to Termini station (really hot on board though) and then got the metro to Barberini station. Alex Inn was just up the road (and up some steps) to Via Emilia. This cost 18 euros for us both for a return journey (as opposed to 90 euros for a shuttle)!

The room was great and spotlessly clean. A bit of a procedure to get in, once you have your keys - you need one key to open the large outer doors on the street, another key to open the inner door. Then you take a lift up to floor 5. Then walk up some stairs. Then another key to open the door to Alex Inn and yet another key for the door to your room. You soon get used to this though and at least it feels secure.

We had the 'blue' room. A lovely bed, small but beautiful bathroom with shower, a raised area with wardrobe and fridge, a LCD TV (no english channels) and patio doors leading to an outside patio with table and chairs (I did a lot of research before going to find this - a real bonus for Rome!)

The room was cleaned every day, with fresh towels daily. Every morning, breakfast (tea, coffee, cereals, fresh croissants etc) was brought into our room at the time we ordered it. It was great eating this every morning on the patio, in the wonderful sunshine. It was also surprisingly quiet.

Natalia - the receptionist was really friendly and helpful. She was there every day until 8.00 pm at night and would try and help with any problem or query we had.

We did the usual things - it was a fabulous break. We did the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps; spent a whole day at the Vatican - amazing - and we actually were there when the Pope was holding an audience and came around in his Popemobile! We also did the Pantheon and Piazza Navona and spent another full day at the Colliseum.

It was great to come back after a really busy day and sit on our patio with a glass of wine, before getting ready to go out to eat.

Alex Inn is in a wonderful location - just off Via Veneto - the 'posh' part of Rome. Within walking distance of most sights. The only problem - it was very expensive to eat out nearby.

Although we were exhausted on our return, we had a wonderful time and I would recommend Alex Inn to everyone.
